Tone control This menu point can be used to disable (by-pass) the Symphonia‘s tone controls. To switch off the tone controls, select the OFF setting. When the tone controls are switched off, any adjustments you make to the following menu points BASS and TREBLE have no effect.

RADIO OPERATION GENERAL INFORMATION The Symphonia features an FM Tuner (VHF radio) with HD Radio™ technology*, a DAB / DAB+ reception section (digital radio) and also includes the facility to stream Internet radio. The following section descri- bes in detail how to operate the individual radio sources.

PRESETS LIST GENERAL INFORMATION The Symphonia includes the facility to create Presets lists. The purpose of these lists is to store radio stations and podcasts, so that they can be accessed swiftly. Each of the sources FM radio, DAB radio, Internetradio and Spotify feature their own Presets list.

The Symphonia features an electrical S/P-DIF digital input, an input for digital source devices with co- axial (RCA) digital outputs, and an HDMI input. The USB DAC input on the rear allows the Symphonia to be used as a D/A converter for computers. No drivers are required when using a computer with Linux or Mac OS. System settings A number of system settings have to be altered if you wish to operate Symphonia with your computer. These changes must be made regardless of the operating system. The installation instructions provide detailed information on how and where the settings are to be changed.
HDMI connection A TV can be connected to the Symphonia using the HDMI (ARC) input. See also „HDMI ARC“ on page 41. COMPATIBILITY INFORMATION Due to the large number of different versions of the HDMI standard, a general compatibility between the devices cannot be guaranteed.

HDMI/ARC source when the television is switched on. Additionally, it automatically powers on as soon as the television is switched on. As long as the Symphonia is set to the HDMI/ARC source, it will also automatically switch off when the television is turned off.
Internet connection. The following section describes the exact method of updating the firmware in detail. To avoid malfunctions after updating the Symphonia, all devices in the system should always be checked for any available updates and installed if they are available.
TROUBLESHOOTING Many problems have a simple cause and a correspondingly simple solution. The following section describes a few difficulties you may encounter, and the measures you need to take to cure them. If you find it impossible to solve a problem with the help of these notes please disconnect the unit from the mains and ask your authorised T+A specialist dealer for advice.

The storage device (especially a USB hard drive without its own power supply) requires more power than the USB port provides. Remedy: Only use USB memory that conforms to the Symphonia‘s USB port specification (max. 1.5 A) for power consumption or that has its own power supply. Cause 2: The storage device is not formatted with an appropriate file system.
AUTOMATIC POWER DOWN FUNCTION The device features an automatic power-down function. If the Symphonia detects no operation or no mu- sic signal for a period longer than 90 minutes, it automatically switches to stand-by mode In countries outside the EU, in which the EuP directive has no validity, the automatic power-down feature can be disabled if necessary.
