Add NIC Card to the SWG 5000-F/5500-F Appliance
NOTE: A static band is recommended before performing any hardware-related work on the Secure Web Gateway
(SWG) appliance.
Remove the Tamper-Proof Label
Peel the warranty/tamper-proof label:
WARNING: It is recommended to ensure that the area is clean and not to use any strong detergent or solvent that may
damage the surface. Removing the tamper-proof label will expose a safety screw that is holding the top rear cover.
Install the Tamper-Proof Label
1. Place the tamper-proof label 820-0021-03 (or later) at the center of the seam between the system top cover and
the back edge of the front drive bay.
2. Note the orientation of the label:

  • Page 4 Remove the Add-On Network Module 1. Turn off the appliance and detach the power cables. 2. Detach the network cables from the Network Interface Card (NIC) ports module. 3. Remove the tamper-proof label. 4. Remove the system top cover. 5. Locate the interface module installed in Riser 1, which is marked as a red circle in the following image: Chassis rear I/O ports Slot # 6.

Locate the replacement Network Adapter. 2. Insert the network card into the rise slot while aligning the network adapter backplate with the open slot in the bracket.
