BMW Night Vision with pedestrian
recognition uses an infrared camera to detect
people and animals up to a distance of
3 0 0 metres, and transfers the images directly
onto the Control Display. This system comes
with pedestrian recognition which sends a
visual warning signal to the driver as soon as a
person moves onto the road outside the beam
of light.
Control Display with high-resolution TFT
screen (7 -inch, colour). Shows the functions
operated using the Controller (e.g. navigation

In combination with BMW Night Vision with
pedestrian recognition, a thermal imaging camera
is integrated into the twin kidneys. The sides of
the kidney grille slats are black.
Controller: The central control unit for iDrive
is rotated, pushed and tilted to operate various
functions via the Control Display. Plus, four
frequently selected menus – CD, radio, navigation
system and telephone – can be called up using
direct menu control buttons. In addition, eight
functional bookmarks can be personally
programmed with settings such as your
favourite radio stations or a frequently selected
navigation destination.
