Motors may be suitable for inverter operation between 25 and 60 Hz, although derating of the flameproof classification may apply. Refer to manufacturers’ instructions or Edwards for more details. For details of the electrical specification of the motor refer to the nameplate.

The pump motor can be started either Direct On- Line (DOL, see Figure 1) or through a suitable inverter, as described below. If required, contact your supplier or Edwards for advice on starting. 5.1.2 Direct on-line (DOL) starting with variable overload Your system must incorporate a programmable variable overload relay to allow for the high current drawn (over a prolonged period) during DOL starting, and to provide overload protection under normal pump operating conditions.
