    Read the following guidelines before you begin to install the CPU: • Make sure that the motherboard supports the CPU. (Go to GIGABYTE's website for the latest CPU support list.) • Prepare a T30 star screwdriver. • Always turn off the computer and unplug the power cord from the power outlet before installing the CPU to prevent hardware damage.
  • Page 12 Pin1 Align the CPU and gently press it down to secure it onto the carrier. Apply an even and thin layer of thermal grease on the surface of the installed CPU. B. Installing CPU onto the CPU cooler Remove the protective cover from the bottom of the CPU cooler and carefully flip it over. Then, install the assembled CPU and carrier onto the bottom of the CPU cooler.

When connecting a fan cable, be sure to connect it in the correct orientation (the black connector wire is the ground wire). The speed control function requires the use of a fan with fan speed control design. For optimum heat dissipation, it is recommended that a system fan be installed inside the chassis.
