Possible solution
• Adjust the tracking control.
• Make sure that the videotape is not old
or worn. Try another videotape.
• Clean the video head.
• Adjust volume control.
• If video reception is good, there may be
a problem with the original station's
broadcast signal. Try another channel.
• Make sure that your DVD combo is not in
Still mode or Slow Motion playback
mode. Press the PLAY button to return
to normal playback.
Make sure that the videotape has an
erase-prevention tab. If necessary, cover the
hole with plastic tape.
• Make sure that the start and end times
are set correctly.
• Make sure that your DVD combo is
turned off. Your DVD combo must be
turned off to activate a timed recording
feature.
• Make sure that your DVD combo's clock
is set correctly.
• Some programs contain copy protection
that restricts copying.
• The timer setting overlapped with
another timer setting that had priority.
• The videotape may have run out before
the recording was complete.
• Make sure that power did not fail during
the recording.
Some tapes have copyright protection. You
cannot copy a copyrighted videotape.
• The company that created the closed
captions may have made an error.
• During live broadcasts, closed captions
are created quickly with no time to edit.
A few seconds of delay is common for live
broadcasts. If the dialogue exceeds the
display capacity (220 words per minute),
selective editing is used so that the captions
remain up-to-date with the current dialogue.
