Intended use

This Black & Decker tool has been designed to aid DIY projects by providing a horizontal, vertical or 45° diagonal line and helping in measurement transfer.
This tool is intended for consumer use only.

Assembly and adjustment

Adjusting the marking pods

  • Move the marking pod to the right or to the left.

Use

Using the grip assist pads

The tool is fitted with spring loaded pads (5) and non-slip grip assist pads (6). This unique feature increases stability on vertical surfaces while holding the tool with one hand.

  • Place the tool on a vertical surface.
  • Press in on the tool to allow the grip assist pads to grip to the vertical surface.
  • Holding the level with one hand, use a pencil in your free hand to make a location marking.


Do not let go of the tool. The gripper pads are not intended to hold the tool against the surface by themselves.
Note: Optimal G-Grip performance will be achieved when the pads are free of dust and dirt. The performance of the grip assist pads can be restored by wiping them using a damp cloth.

Using the spirit level

The tool can be used for vertical, horizontal and diagonal level measurement.

  • Check whether the bubble moves evenly between the 2 lines in the spirit. This means your level is straight.

Using the marking pods

The tool is fitted with adjustable marking pods to transfer and or repeat a measurement from one location to another.

  • Align the marking pods (4) with the pre-set hang holes of the object you want to hang on the wall.

  • Transfer the measurement to your work area ensuring the tool is aligned to a level position (fig. B1 - B3).
  • Mark the locations of the marking pods through the slots in the pods using a pencil.

Cleaning and maintenance

Your tool has been designed to operate over a long period of time with a minimum of maintenance. Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper tool care and regular cleaning.

  • To clean the tool, use only mild soap and a damp cloth. Never let any liquid get inside the tool and never immerse any part of the tool into liquid.
