Preparing Your Site for Installation Lifting Guidelines A Cisco ADE 2130 or 2140 Series appliance weighs between 30 lb (13.6 kg) and 51.5 lb (23.4 kg) depending on what hardware options are installed in the appliance. The appliance is not intended to be moved frequently.

2-1a shows a free-standing, enclosed rack with two mounting posts in the front. The Cisco ADE 2130 and 2140 Series appliance should not be installed in this type of enclosed rack, because the appliance requires an unobstructed flow of cooling air to maintain acceptable operating temperatures for its internal components.

This type of rack is usually secured to the floor and sometimes to an overhead structure or wall for additional stability. The Cisco ADE 2130 or 2140 Series appliance can be installed in this rack either in a front-mounted position or a mid-mounted position.

Never install an AC power module and a DC power module in the same chassis. Statement 1050 The Cisco ADE 2130 and 2140 Series appliance can be equipped with either AC or DC power supplies and you can operate the appliance with one or two of these power supplies installed. If you have two AC or DC power supplies, the power supplies create redundancy for the appliance, enabling one to become a backup for the other in case of failure.
