If you intend to write data to a HDD via the player, it is recommended to format the HDD to EXT2 or EXT3 filesystem. For example, you may need this if you intend to copy data to the player's attached HDD from network using FTP or SMB accessr, or copy data from other storage devices to this HDD using the file manager of the player.

Page 27

Windows clients on the network and access Windows file servers. Thus Macs with OS X 10.2x - 10.6x installed are fully compatible with all Dune HD media players via the SMB protocol. However, the Samba team has moved active development of the project to the more strict GPLv3 license which prevents Apple from realistically using the software commercially.

Troubleshooting dune-hd.com/eng/support/online_manual/troubleshooting General Problems TROUBLE: The player does not switch on. SOLUTION: Check if the player is connected to AC mains. Wait at least 60 seconds before switching on the player. TROUBLE: The player turns on, but there is no picture. SOLUTION: If during 60 sec after switching on there is still no picture on the screen, and the player power indicator is lighted, most probably the video output parameters of your player or video input of your TV/monitor/projector are incorrect.
Page 35
Digital A/V output connection is not available at all, although everything is properly connected and configured. Periodical disappearing or jumping of picture during video playback or operation of the file browser. Periodic warning on the TV/monitor/projector screen about video mode change during video playback or operation of the file browser.
Page 36
It is possible that the temperature requirements were not observed, and there is condensate on internal parts. Unplug the player from the AC mains. Wait until the condensate evaporates, see "Safety Measures" section, and then start using the player normally. It is possible that the device needs to be rebooted.
Page 37
For playback of high bitrate video files, please make sure that the player has sufficient (with some reserve) media data reading speed. The speed depends on the data storage drive. If the reading speed is insufficient, there will be playback problems such as video and audio stuttering.
Page 38
Network Problems TROUBLE: "Cannot access network folder" error after network folder creation. SOLUTION: Several reasons and solutions of this problem are possible.
Page 39
Incorrect type of network folder. Correct it by specifying the correct path to the folder. If you connect to a Windows PC (2000, XP or Vista) and are not familiar with NFS, then specify SMB. Incorrect IP address of the server. Make sure that the IP address of the server is correct.
Page 40
Incorrectly configured or disabled network connection between the player and the client PC. Make sure that the player and the client PC are correctly connected to the network (check the network cable connection). Make sure that the network parameters of the player are correct (see Setup menu, Network section).
Page 41
7. Switch the player off (using the power button on the player). 8. Switch the player on. The recovered firmware should load in the usual way. NOTE: For Dune HD Ultra and Dune HD Mini models, the firmware recovery procedure is different:...
Page 42
1. Put a firmware DFF file at the top level of a HDD attached to the player. 2. Rename the firmware DFF file on the HDD into "dune_firmware.dff". 3. Switch the player on. The player should boot using the "dune_firmware.dff" file on the HDD. 4.

Dune Firmware Zone dune-hd.com/support/my_collection My Collection is a Jukebox application built-in into the firmware of Dune HD media players for automatic indexing and nice visualization of movies collections. All 2018+ models. Pre 2018 models (based on Sigma Designs media processors): all models starting with Dune BD Prime 3.0 (some models require Dune Plus subscription).
Page 45
Access to the movie catalog even when drives are detached. All system data about your collection is stored in a special system location, and nothing is stored inside the folders which store video files. So when your folder with video files is not currently accessible by the player (e.g. it is located on a separately stored HDD), you can still work with your collection and browse through all movies, including those located on detached drives.
Page 46
Dune HD media players. Information about movies not in your collection The "My Collection" function is based on "Movies" function of Dune HD UI. The "Movies" function is movies encyclopedia with various information about various movies available in the world. It allows you to study the information about movies and related persons (cast and crew) and find interesting movies and persons.
Page 47
Integration of streaming services. If an extension plugin which implements an integration with a streaming service is installed, and the movie is available in this streaming service, you can watch this movie in this streaming service by pressing "Play..." button on the movie screen. This function is especially useful for movies which are not in your collection.
Page 48
Revise the matches between files and movies (optional). This is not mandatory, but after you indexed a folder, it is usually recommended to review all the files which were added to the index, and matches between these files and movies. Some matches may be wrong and you could need to manually correct them.
Page 49
(even if it is not recognized automatically, in most cases it can be found by manually entering a proper movie title or IMDB ID), but in some problematic cases, it can not. Such problematic cases should be rare, and Dune HD is constantly working on reducing the number of such problems.
Page 50
Control the playback (play/pause, stop, previous/next, playback position, volume). Full functionality (including Navigator and Now Playing) is available only on the latest generation of Dune HD media player models (starting with Dune HD Neo 4K), and only when using the latest firmware version (190330_0254_r13 or newer).

Navigator: Show "(empty)" text in empty folders. Navigator: More correct handling of scroll position after orientation changes. Remote: Added autorepeat feature: press and hold button to generate repetitive button presses (supported for arrows, REW/FWD, P+/P-, V+/V- buttons). Remote: Button presses now work quicker (on button press, not on button release). Remote: Bugfix: REW/FWD buttons were mixed with PREV/NEXT.

Added support for various screens, menus, dialogs which were not supported in the mobile app previously (Kartina.TV / Search, Kartina.TV / Start, Setup / Video, etc). Fixed the problem with "tabs" view type in Dune UI skins.
