Attaching VHF Extension to Main Antenna
Step 1. (Figure 1)
Remove the square plastic end cap from the back end
of the main antenna square tube. Using a Phillips
screwdriver and a 3/8" open-end wrench, remove the
screws and locknut's from the antenna as shown, set
them aside to be reinstalled.
Step 2. (Figure 2)
Firmly press both extension clamps onto the square
tube of both the Main Antenna and the VHF Extension.
Place the two screws through the clamps and tighten
the wing nut securing the square tube to the extension
brackets as shown.
Step 3. (Figure 3)
Connect both VHF elements to the plastic mount of
the VHF extension.
Attach the feed rods to combine the VHF extension to
the antenna as shown.
Secure the feed rods to the rear element mount with
the provided hardware. Next, secure the opposite side
of the feed rods to the antenna's element mount by
reinstalling the 3/8" locknuts.
After successfully connecting the VHF extension, your
antenna will have increased VHF signal strength.
Rooftop Installation Warning!
Use caution when installing antennas and accessories on a rooftop, near power lines and electrical equipment. Stay away from power lines. If you or the antenna comes in contact with power wires or other
electrical equipment you could be at risk of serious injury or even death. If any part of the antenna should come in contact with a power line, call your local power company for assistance, DO NOT TRY TO REMOVE
IT YOURSELF. If you are concerned about nearby power lines coming in contact with you or your antenna during installation, please contact a professional installer and/or your power company for assistance.
