Product Overview

Xiaomi Motion Sensor 2S can detect human motions and ambient light intensity, and send the detection results to the Xiaomi Home app through a nearby gateway for interaction with other products.

Note: The motion sensor must be used with Bluetooth Mesh gateways, such as Xiaomi Home Hub 2.

Connecting with the Xiaomi Home App

This product works with the Xiaomi Home app. Use the Xiaomi Home app to control your device, and to interact with other smart home devices.

Scan the QR code to download and install the app. You will be directed to the connection setup page if the app is installed already.

Or search for "Xiaomi Home" in the app store to download and install it.

Open the Xiaomi Home app, tap "+" on the upper right, and then follow the instructions to add your device.

How to Install & Use

Fasten the motion sensor after successful connection: Make sure that the motion sensor connects to the Bluetooth gateway properly at the desired location before installing and fastening the sensor. Open the Xiaomi Home app, and go to the plugin homepage of the motion sensor. You can start using the motion sensor after "Connected" is displayed below its name. If "Not connected" is displayed, please check if any nearby Bluetooth Mesh gateway is available.

Installation precautions

1. Adjust the location and the angle of the motion sensor to face toward the area to be detected for optimal detection performance.
2. To install the motion sensor with the adhesive sticker, remove the protective film from the adhesive sticker first. Choose a surface that can maintain strong adhesion to ensure the adhesive effect.
3. Do not place the motion sensor towards heating objects such as outlets of air conditioners or heaters, and stoves. Do not expose the motion sensor to direct sunlight to prevent triggering it accidentally due to infrared interference.
4. When the sensing signals of the motion sensor encounter glass, they cannot penetrate the glass but will be reflected. These signals are more easily captured in the high-sensitivity mode. Please take the above factors into consideration during installation.

Replacing the Battery

Hold the motion sensor's body and press the battery cover lock. Rotate the motion sensor's body or the battery cover in the direction illustrated to open the battery compartment. Then, replace the CR2450 battery with a new one. Make sure that the positive side of the battery faces outwards.

Align " " on the battery cover with the battery cover lock. Then rotate the motion sensor's body or the battery cover until " " is aligned with the lock to secure the battery cover to the motion sensor.

Sensing Settings

1. Sensing sensitivity: The high-sensitivity detection mode can be enabled in the Xiaomi Home app for the motion sensor, which leads to higher power consumption and shorter battery life. In the high-sensitivity detection mode, the motion sensor can detect smaller motions than human movements, so that these motions will not be ignored in specific scenarios. Stationary persons still cannot be detected in this mode.
2. Motion detection interval: When detecting someone moved, the motion sensor will enter sleep mode temporarily to reduce its power consumption. In sleep mode, the motion sensor will no longer detect human motions. This sleep duration is called a motion detection interval that can be set in the Xiaomi Home app.

Reducing the detection interval will shorten the battery life.

3. Do not install the motion sensor at a location near heat sources or other locations that can be easily affected by infrared interference.
4. Do not attempt to repair the motion sensor on your own. It should be repaired by authorized technicians.
5. The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for any risks or property losses caused by failure to follow the instructions during operation or failure to follow the precautions.

Warnings

• Do not ingest battery, Chemical Burn Hazard.
• This product use a coin battery. If the coin battery is swallowed, it can cause severe internal burns in just 2 hours and can lead to death.
• Keep new and used batteries away from children. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children. If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.
