  • Page 3 About This Manual This manual contains instructions for your FUJIFILM X100VI digital camera. Be sure you have read and understood its contents before proceeding. Symbols and Conventions The following symbols are used in this manual: Information that should be read to prevent damage to the product.
  • Page 4 Charging the Battery The battery is not charged at shipment. Before use, charge the battery in the supplied battery charger. An NP-W126S rechargeable battery is supplied with the camera.   • Page 5 Charging the Battery The Charging Indicator The charging indicator shows battery charge status as follows: Charging indicator Battery status Battery status Action Action Battery not inserted.   • Page 6 Inserting the Battery and a Memory Card Insert the battery and memory card as described below. Open the battery-chamber cover. Slide the battery-chamber latch as shown and open the battery-cham- ber cover. • Do not remove the battery when the camera is on.
  • Page 7 Close the battery-chamber cover. Close and latch the cover. If the cover does not close, check that the battery is in the correct orienta- tion. Do not attempt to force the cov- er shut. Format the memory card. Format memory cards before fi rst use, and be sure to reformat all memory cards after using them in a computer or other device.
  • Page 8 Removing the Battery and Memory Card Before removing the battery, turn the camera off and open the battery-cham- ber cover. To remove the battery, press the battery latch to the side, and slide the battery out of the camera as shown. The battery may become hot when used in high-temperature environ- ments.

  • Page 10 Turning the Camera On and Off Use the ON/OFF switch to turn the camera on and off . Slide the switch to ON to turn the camera on, or to OFF to turn the camera off . Fingerprints and other marks on the lens or viewfi nder can aff ect pic- tures or the view through the viewfi nder.

  • Page 15 Taking Photographs (Mode P) This section describes how to take pictures using program AE (mode P). Adjust settings for program AE. Setting Setting Shutter speed A (auto) Focus mode Select S (single AF) Aperture A (auto) Check the shooting mode. Confi rm that P appears in the display.
  • Page 16 Ready the camera. • Hold the camera steady with both hands and brace your elbows against your sides. Shaking or un- steady hands can blur your shots. • To prevent pictures that are out of focus or too dark (underexposed), keep your fi ngers and other objects away from the lens and AF-assist illuminator.

  • Page 18 Viewing Pictures Pictures can be viewed in the viewfi nder or LCD monitor. To view pictures full frame, press PLAY button. 100-0001 Additional pictures can be viewed by pressing the focus stick (focus lever) left or right or rotating the front command dial. Press the focus stick or rotate the dial right to view pictures in the order recorded, left to view pictures in reverse order.
  • Page 19 Deleting Pictures Use the DRIVE/DELETE button to delete pictures. Deleted pictures can not be recovered. Copy important pictures to a computer or other storage device before proceeding.   • Page 20 Recording Movies The camera can be used to record short high-defi nition mov- ies. Sound is recorded in stereo via the built-in microphone; do not cover the microphone during recording. Press the DRIVE/DELETE button to display drive mode options. Highlight F (MOVIE) and press MENU/OK to enter movie record- ing standby mode.
