The D 542 ST-S is a dynamic close-talking
microphone for use with paging systems
and P.A. systems for airports, train
stations, etc.
The microphone (1) is permanently attach-
ed to a massive base (2) with integrated
PTT (push-to-talk) switch (3). The flexible
gooseneck (4) is easy to adjust and keeps
the microphone (1) securely in its positi-
on.The microphone provides a balanced
output with a permanently attached coiled
cable (5) and an international-standard
XLR connector (6).
Balanced Inputs: You can connect
the microphone to any balanced
microphone input (XLR socket) on
your amplifier or mixer.
Unbalanced Inputs: Replace the
XLR connector with a TS jack plug.
Connect the red wire to the tip of the
jack plug. Connect the other wires and the shield to the shaft.
The PTT switch (3) provides the following
functions:
ON: The microphone is permanently open.
To switch the microphone OFF, press =
and release.
OFF: The microphone is OFF.
Set the PTT switch to ON to switch the microphone on and talk into the
microphone (1) from a distance of 1 to 4 inches.
