・Overview
WS102-EC is a smart water quality analysis electrical conductivity
sensor, which can be used to detect and distinguish pure water,
mountain spring water, mineralized water, purified water, tap water,
sewage, etc.
At the same time built-in temperature detection, measuring range 0
~ 60 °C. The sensor supports analog 4-20mA and RS-485 (ModBus
RTU) for user application.

・Installation
Before Use (
Please read this instruction carefully before use
1) The EC electrode needs to be dried before storage. Do not store the
electrode in distilled or deionized water
2) In the measurement process, if there is dirt, adhesive or scale on the
electrode, the measured value will not be accurate or fuctuate. It should
be ceaned and caibrated in time.
Wiring
1) Please follow the instructions carefully , the wrong wiring will damage the
product completely.
2) Please carefully check all the wiring in the system and confirm that the
wiring is complete right before switch on the power.
*Note: RS48SA line and RS48SB line are strictly forbidden to contact
with the power supply line, otherwise the communication of the
electrode will be permanently damaged.

Wiring The RS485 Signals
1) Connect the cable to the device, connect the white wire to RS485-A,
and connect the black wire to RS485-B.
2) When wiring the RS485 cable, pay attention to A/B the two lines cannot
be reversed.
*Note: Make sure the addresses of multiple devices on the Modbus
setting do not conflict.
Wiring The Power Input
1) Connect the power cable to the device. Brown cable is the positive pole
of the power supply and blue cable is the negative pole of the power
supply.
2) Connect the power wires to suitable DC Switching type power supply.
The input range is 10-30VDC.
*Note: Gray wire should be protected when not in use to avoid short
circuit when touching the blue wire
Polarization Method
Connect the electrode with the transmitter, put the electrode into the
solution to be tested, connect the power supply, and start polarization
after power on.
Calibration Instructions:
(Taking the address of the electrode
equipment as an example)
Step 1:
Change the electrode constant to 1.
Write data 1 to register 0x0A (1 is a floating point number, converted to
hexadecimal number 3F 80 00 00, in order ABCD, converted to CDAB,
that is, 00 00 3F 80).
Send command: 01 10 00 0A 00 02 04 00 00 3F 80 63 80.
Return data: 01 10 00 0A 00 02 61 CA.
Step 2:
Clean and dry the electrode and put it into the standard solution.
Send command: 01 03 00 00 00 02 C4 0B (read measured value).
For example: Return data: 01 03 04 99 9A 3F B9 24 C2.
99 9A 3F B9 is the measured value, in the order of CDAB. Convert it to
)
ABCD, that is, 3F B9 99 9A, with a floating point number of 1.45, and the
current measured value is 1.45mS/cm. After the measured value is stable,
calculate the conductivity constant, which=standard liquid value/current
measured value.
For example, if the sensor is placed in a 1.413mS/cm standard solution
and the current measured value of the sensor is 1.450mS/cm, the
constant=1.413/1.450=0.97448 Write data 0.97448 to the 0x0A register
(0.97448 is a floating point number, converted to a hexadecimal number
of 3F 79 77 85, and sequentially transposed from ABCD to CDAB to
obtain 77 85 3F 79).
Send command: 01 10 00 0A 00 02 04 77 85 3F 79 A9 9F.
Return data: 01 10 00 0A 00 02 61 CA.
End of calibration.

Installation
1)
The conductivity electrode is generally recommended to be
installed in the flow tank to make the measurement more stable
and accurate.
2)
If the electrode is installed in the pipeline, the right angle of 15 ° ~
165 ° is the legal installation area, and the rest is the wrong
installation area.
3)
Installation method.
Pay attention to the immersion installation:
1.In this installation , there will be dirt on the electrode frequently, it
needs to be cleaned regularly.
2. Measuring value is not stable.
3. Different insertion depths will affect the measured value.
4. The position of the electrode must be above the sediment.
