General Description
This guide provides a summary of the technical details for installing and configuring the FP1096 ASE Mk2 Dual 3G. It should be
used in conjunction with the ASE Mk2 User Manual (LT0379, issue 2.7 or later) and the ADT commissioning document(s) for
this product.
The ASE Mk2 supports up to sixteen fire alarm panels or sprinkler systems, each using an SGD to send Fire, Defect, Isolate
and Test signals to the ASE Mk2. The ASE Mk2 combines this information together with its own status and sends it to the ADT
central monitoring system (CMS) using the in-built 3G radio modems.
The ASE Mk2 is powered from the 230Vac mains via a plug pack, and it includes a charger for the 12V battery that provides
power if the mains fails.

Summary of Contents for ADT ASE Mk2

  • Page 1 The ASE Mk2 supports up to sixteen fire alarm panels or sprinkler systems, each using an SGD to send Fire, Defect, Isolate and Test signals to the ASE Mk2. The ASE Mk2 combines this information together with its own status and sends it to the ADT central monitoring system (CMS) using the in-built 3G radio modems.
  • Page 2 The ASE Mk2 should be wall-mounted and within reach of the mains socket. Attach the ASE Mk2 securely to the wall using at least 2, preferably 3, fixing points. Run the Plug Pack and SGD leads out of any convenient cable access hole, first protecting the opening with the body plug supplied.
  • Page 3 OC1- is on (conducts to 0V) when the ASE Mk2 has at least one working communication (radio 1 or 2) link to the CMS and there are no SGDs in Wiring Fault (Poll fail, Address fault, etc).
  • Page 4 ASE Mk2 Dual 3G Installation Guide Diagnostics and Testing The Power On LED (LD11) is on whenever power (mains or battery) is supplied to the ASE Mk2. This indicates that the unit should be working. The 9 Status LEDs (LD3-LD10 and LD16) indicate the status of the ASE Mk2 and the SGDs when the cabinet door is open.
  • Page 5 Logging Off Radio Network If a SIM card is to be changed it is necessary to log the ASE Mk2 off the radio network before the ASE is powered down and the SIM is changed. This allows the network to recognise and permit the new SIM card, otherwise, it can take some hours for the new SIM to be permitted by the network.
