Information on corpuls cpr

• Thecorpuls cpr is a device for mechanical chest compressions within the framework of cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• This is a basic guide for use and procedures adopted by your service may differ slightly.

Preparing the corpuls cpr for use

1. The corpuls cpr device will be stored in its dedicated carry bag and on charge.
   

3. The socket can only be positioned by the patient's right shoulder.
4. Log roll or shoulder lift the patient to insert the Scoopboard, ensuring interruptions to manual cpr are minimised.
   
5. Ensure the stamp extension, followed by the correct size stamp is in place. Replace with the correct size stamp if required.
   

Adjusting & Starting the cpr arm

1. Remove the cpr arm from the bag and power on, review the therapy settings on the display screen and adjust if necessary.
   

2. With the arm facing away from the patient's chest, hold the cpr arm upright and align the bayonet fitting with the socket on the Scoopboard and click into position.
   

3. Release the locking lever and position so the stamp is in the middle of the lower part of the sternum, with the stamp touching the patient's chest.
   

4. Optimum stamp positioning is reflected by the start / stop button LED illuminating green. If the amber LED illuminates and the stamp is in visible contact with the chest, continue with the therapy. If the red lamp is illuminated, raise the cpr arm until the green or amber LED illuminates and the stamp is visibly on the chest.
   

5. Close the locking lever by slapping it with the palm of your open hand and then press the green or amber LED start / stop button.
   

Power Management

The remaining battery power can be reviewed by pressing the button below the battery LEDs.
If the battery is near depleted either:

1. Remove the depleted battery by pressing the two red buttons and replace with a fully charged battery. The cpr arm therapy will stop. Press the start / stop button to restart the therapy.
   

Adjusting Settings

Use the soft keys to adjust the therapy settings, if required.

Alarm Management

Audible alerts via the loudspeaker and visual alarm notifications via the LED of the stop / start button and the display screen, are provided as High priority (red), Medium priority (yellow) and Low priority (cyan). The highest priority alarm will always be displayed.

Activate and deactivate alarm suspension by pressing the soft key located beside the alarm symbol, for 3 seconds.
Confirm the alarm by pressing the soft key located beside the confirmation symbol.

Securing the Fixation Ring

The Fixation Ring can be used to secure the patient to the Scoopboard in readiness for extrication.
The attachment straps must be fastened to the Scoopboard and are freely accessible.
The user is responsible for checking the correct placement of the Fixation Ring and the stamp position during therapy.

1. Either pause the therapy or during a ventilation pause, position the Fixation Ring centrally on the thorax, with the fasteners facing upright and hold in position.
   

2. Additionally, the patient can be fully immobilised using the Patient Securing System.
   

3. Continue to hold the Fixation Ring in position and fully tighten the attachment straps by pulling them carefully and evenly in a diagonal direction on the patient's chest.
   

4. Ensure the patient's arm are positioned close to their body and bring the magnetic fasteners of the attachment straps up to the magnetic fasteners on the fixation ring and loosely secure the attachment straps by carefully pulling them.
