KEYS AND PARTS
Your phone
This user guide applies to the following models: TA-1634 and TA-1639.
Some of the accessories mentioned in this user guide, such as charger, headset, or data cable, may be sold separately.
Note: You can set the phone to ask for a security code to protect your privacy and personal data. Select Menu >
> Security > Keyguard > Security code. Make up a code with 5-8 digits, and select OK > On. Note, however, that you need to remember the code, as HMD Global is not able to open or bypass it.
Parts and connectors, magnetism
Do not connect to products that create an output signal, as this may damage the device. Do not connect any voltage source to the audio connector. If you connect an external device or headset, other than those approved for use with this device, to the audio connector, pay special aention to volume levels.
Parts of the device are magnetic. Metallic materials may be aracted to the device. Do not place credit cards or other magnetic stripe cards near the device for extended periods of time, since the cards may be damaged.
SETUP AND SWITCH ON YOUR PHONE
Note: Pre-installed system software and apps use a significant part of memory space.
Mini SIM
This device is designed to be used with a mini SIM card only. Use of incompatible SIM cards may damage the card or the device, and may corrupt data stored on the card.
Note: Switch the device o and disconnect the charger and any other device before removing any covers. Avoid touching electronic components while changing any covers. Always store and use the device with any covers aached.

Tip: To find out if your phone can use 2 SIM cards, see the label on the sales box. If there are 2 IMEI codes on the label, you have a dual-SIM phone.
Insert the memory card
Use only compatible memory cards approved for use with this device. Incompatible cards may damage the card and the device and corrupt data stored on the card.
Do not remove the memory card when an app is using it. Doing so may damage the memory card and the device and corrupt data stored on the card.
Tip: Use a fast, up to 32 GB microSD memory card from a well-known manufacturer.

Your baery has been partially charged at the factory, but you may need to recharge it before you can use your phone.

Lock the keypad
To avoid accidentally pressing the keys, lock the keypad: select Go to > Lock keypad. To unlock the keypad, press the end key and select Unlock.
Write with the keypad
Press a key repeatedly until the leer is shown.
To type in a space press the 0 key.
To type in a special character or punctuation mark, press the asterisk key, or if you are using predictive text, press and hold the # key.
To switch between character cases or type in a number, press the # key repeatedly.

CHANGE THE LOOKOF YOUR HOME SCREEN
Choose a new wallpaper
You can change the background of your home screen.
Show date and time
You can select to see date and time on the home screen of your phone.
Select Menu > > Time seings > Display of time and date > Show clock.
If you want your phone to update the time automatically, set Auto-update of date and time on. You may need to restart your phone for this seing to work.
Tip: You can also set your phone to show the time even in the idle mode. Select Menu >
> Display seings > Standby screen > On.
PROFILES
Personalize profiles
There are several profiles that you can use in dierent situations. There is, for example, a silent profile for when you cannot have sounds on, and a loud profile for noisy environments. You can personalize profiles further.
ADD SHORTCUTS
You can add shortcuts to dierent apps and seings on your home screen.
Edit Go to seings
On the boom left of your home screen is Go to, which contains shortcuts to various apps and seings. Select the shortcuts that are the handiest for you.
You can also reorganize your Go to list.
PHOTOS AND VIDEOS
Take a photo
To see the photo you just took, select New > Opt. > View photos > Captured photos.
To view all photos, on the home screen, select Menu > Photos.
Keep a safe distance when using the flash. Do not use the flash on people or animals at close range. Do not cover the flash while taking a photo.
Record a video
To see the video you just recorded, on the home screen, select Menu > Videos.

If you want the alarm to repeat on certain days, select the alarm, then select Repeat alarm > Repeat alarm, scroll to each day you want the alarm to sound on, and select Mark. Then select Done > Yes.

RESTORE FACTORYSETTINGS
Reset your phone
You can restore the original factory seings, but be careful, since this reset removes all data you have saved in the phone memory and all your personalization.
If you are disposing your phone, note that you are responsible of removing all private content.
To reset your phone to its original seings and to remove all your data, on the home screen, type in *#7370#. If asked, enter your security code.

SWITCH OFF IN RESTRICTED AREAS
Switch the device o when mobile device use is not allowed or when it may cause interference or danger, for example, in aircraft, in hospitals or near medical equipment, fuel, chemicals, or blasting areas. Obey all instructions in restricted areas.
ROAD SAFETY COMES FIRST
Obey all local laws. Always keep your hands free to operate the vehicle while driving. Your first consideration while driving should be road safety.
INTERFERENCE
All wireless devices may be susceptible to interference, which could aect performance.
AUTHORIZED SERVICE
Only authorized personnel may install or repair this product.
BATTERIES, CHARGERS, AND OTHER ACCESSORIES
Use only baeries, chargers, and other accessories approved by HMD Global Oy for use with this device. Do not connect incompatible products.
KEEP YOUR DEVICE DRY
If your device is water-resistant, see its IP rating in the device's technical specifications for more detailed guidance.
PROTECTYOUR HEARING
To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for long periods. Exercise caution when holding your device near your ear while the loudspeaker is in use.
EMERGENCY CALLS
Connections in all conditions cannot be guaranteed. Never rely solely on any wireless phone for essential communications like medical emergencies.

TAKE CARE OF YOUR DEVICE
Handle your device, baery, charger and accessories with care. The following suggestions help you keep your device operational.
During extended operation, the device may feel warm. In most cases, this is normal. To avoid geing too warm, the device may automatically slow down, close apps, switch o charging, and if necessary, switch itself o. If the device is not working properly, take it to the nearest authorized service facility.
SMALL CHILDREN
Your device and its accessories are not toys. They may contain small parts. Keep them out of the reach of small children.
NICKEL
The surface of this device is nickel-free.
MEDICAL DEVICES
Operation of radio transmiing equipment, including wireless phones, may interfere with inadequately shielded medical devices' function. Consult a physician or the medical device's manufacturer to determine if it is adequately shielded from external radio energy.

Only authorized personnel should install the device in a vehicle. Faulty installation may be dangerous and invalidate your warranty. Check regularly that all wireless device equipment in your vehicle is mounted and operating properly. Do not store or carry flammable or explosive materials in the same compartment as the device, its parts, or accessories. Do not place your device or accessories in the air bag deployment area.
POTENTIALLY EXPLOSIVE ENVIRONMENTS
Switch your device o in potentially explosive environments, such as near gasoline pumps. Sparks may cause an explosion or fire resulting in injury or death. Note restrictions in areas with fuel; chemical plants; or where blasting operations are in progress. Areas with a potentially explosive environment may not be clearly marked. These usually are areas where you are advised to switch your engine o, below deck on boats, chemical transfer or storage facilities, and where the air contains chemicals or particles. Check with the manufacturers of vehicles using liquefied petroleum gas (such as propane or butane) if this device can be safely used in their vicinity.
