Liquid Detection Fiber Head
(Pipe-mountable Liquid Detection Fiber)
Thank you very much for purchasing Panasonic products. Please read
this Instruction Manual carefully and thoroughly for the correct and opti-
mum use of this product. Kindly keep this manual in a convenient place
for quick reference.
● For the connecting method of the fiber attachment, refer to the Instruction
Manual attached to the fiber attachment.
● Also read "Instruction Manual of General-purpose Fiber Head"
carefully and thoroughly for the correct and optimum use.
1 MOUNTING
● Mount the fiber on a pipe with the attached tying bands and the anti-
slip tubes as shown in the diagrams below.
Fasten two tying bands, as shown, and cut off the excess portions.

● If other tying bands are to be used, the dimension A shown in the fig-
ure below should be 2.5mm or less.
Recommended tying band: T18I-HS [Hellermann Tyton Co.,Ltd.]

ご使用の前にこの取扱説明書をよくお読みになり、正しく最適な方法で
ご使用ください。
尚、この取扱説明書は大切に保管してください。
● ファイバセンサアンプへの装着方法については、ファイバセンサ
アンプに付属の取扱説明書をご参照ください。
● ｢汎用ファイバヘッドの取扱説明書｣もよくお読みになり、正しく
最適な方法でご使用ください。

取り付け
● 下図のように付属の結束バンドと滑り止めチューブを使って取り付
けます。また、結束バンドは上下2本とも確実に締めて、余分な部分
は切ってください。
結束バンド
● 別途、結束バンドが必要な場合は、下図のA寸法が2.5mm以下の結束
バンドを使用してください。

2 CAUTIONS
● Since a water drop on the pipe's sensing surface can affect the sens-
ing performance, avoid using this fiber head at a place where water
splashes. Further, take sufficient care against dew condensation etc.
on the pipe's outside wall.
● Take care that shortening the fiber cable excessively may result in
loss of reliable detection due to an insufficient light intensity differ-
ence. (As a reference, adjust the length of the fiber cable at 1m and
when mounted on the pipe, the displayed digit value of the amplifier in
liquid absent condition should be 3,500 or less.)
● Fluorine resin (PFA) or equivalently transparent pipe, wall thickness
0.3 to 1.0mm and diameter is ø3.0 to ø10.0mm, can be mounted to
this product. Liquid in an opaque pipe cannot be detected correctly.
● Unclear or highly viscous liquid may not be detected stably. Check the
sensing operation with liquid actually to be used.
● Take care not to scratch the fiber sheath while cutting the protective
tube.
● The detection result may vary greatly if the this sensor is not firmly
secured. Use the attached anti-slip tube to firmly secure it to the pipe
so that it does not move.
● Make sure to adjust the sensitivity of the amplifier after mounting the
fiber in liquid absent condition in the pipe.
In case of re-mounting the fiber to the pipe or change in layout, adjust
the sensitivity of the amplifier again.
● Note that light intensity may decrease when used under high tem-
perature and high humidity for a long period.
● Liquid being detected should also be kept within the rated ambient
temperature range (-40 to +60°C).

注意事項
● 検出面に水滴が付着すると検出性能に影響を及ぼします。水が直接
かかる場所での使用は、避けてください。
また、パイプ外壁の結露などには、充分ご注意ください。
● ファイバを極端に短くすると、光量差が充分に取れず安定して検出
できない場合がありますので、ご注意ください。(目安としては、
ファイバ長は1mで、パイプに取り付けたときに、液体のない状態で
アンプのdigit値が3,500以下でご使用ください。)
● パイプ形状は外径φ3.0～φ10.0mm、肉厚0.3～1.0mmとし、フッ素
樹脂(PFA)または同等の透明度を有するパイプに本製品を取り付けて
ください。不透明なパイプでは、正しく検出できませんので、ご注
意ください。
● 透明度の低い液体や粘度の高い液体は、安定して検出できない場合
があります。実際に使用する液体で動作確認を行なってください。
● 保護チューブ切断時は、ファイバ外被に傷を付けないように切断し
てください。
● パイプへの取り付け状態が不完全な場合、検出に大きな影響を及ぼ
す可能性があります。付属の滑り止めチューブを使用し、検出部が
動かないようにパイプに取り付けて使用してください。
● アンプの感度設定は、必ずパイプ内に液体のない状態で、ファイバ
を設置してから行なってください。
また、ファイバをパイプへ取り付け直した場合、またはファイバの
引き回しを変更した場合は、必ずアンプの感度設定を行なってくだ
さい。
● 長期間高温･高湿状態で使用すると、光量が低下するおそれがありま
すのでご注意ください。
● 検出する液体の温度も、使用周囲温度範囲内(－40～＋60°C)にして
ください。
