  • Page 6: Connect To Smarterhome™ App

    CONNECT TO SMARTERHOME™ APP Install App Download the “Kogan SmarterHome” app from the Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS). Play Store (Android) App Store (iOS) To register: If you already have a SmarterHome account, select ‘Log In’. To register a new account, select ‘Sign Up’.
  • Page 7 Set device in pairing mode When the device is first turned on, it may automatically enter pairing mode (the Wi-Fi icon will be flashing rapidly). If not automatically in pairing mode when powered on, you can manually set the device in pairing mode by pressing and holding the ‘Snooze’...
  • Page 8 Ensure that the device is in pairing mode, with the Wi-Fi icon flashing rapidly, and tap “Confirm light is rapidly flashing”. The device will commence the pairing process and connect to the app. Ensure your Wi-Fi router, mobile phone, and the SmarterHome™ device are kept close until connection is complete.

If that does not work for your connection, we suggest trying it again, and if still no success, attempting the following method for AP Mode connection. Set device in AP pairing mode Set the device in pairing mode by pressing the ‘Snooze’...
  • Page 10 Follow the in-app prompts to continue AP Mode connection, which will pair your mobile phone to the device’s Wi-Fi hotspot to ensure a connection. This may be named “SL-KoganSmart”, “SmartLife-XXXX”, or another similar name. Note: If the Wi-Fi hotspot does not appear on your phone in the list of available networks, your device may not be set in AP Pairing Mode correctly.

    GOOGLE HOME CONTROL Note: You will need to have set up a Google Home account prior to linking your Kogan SmarterHome™ device.   • Page 12 Select the search bar and type ‘Smarter Home’ to locate the Kogan SmarterHome™ service. From here, you will be prompted to sign into your SmarterHome™ account using either your email or mobile phone number, depending on which method you used to register your account.

  • Page 15 Tap ‘Enable to Use’ to add the Kogan SmarterHome™ skill to Alexa. From here, you will be prompted to sign into your SmarterHome™ account using either your email or mobile phone number, depending on which method you used to register your account.
  • Page 16 Once connected, the app will perform a search and display the devices linked to your SmarterHome™ account. When your devices have successfully connected to the Alexa app, you will be able to control your Kogan SmarterHome™ devices via Alexa’s voice commands.

    OPERATION Set the Time You must set the clock time when you plug in the appliance for the first time. Plug the micro USB end of the provided power cable into the micro USB port on the wake up light. Connect the USB-A end into the 5V/2A power adapter.
  • Page 18 Press the ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ buttons to adjust the minutes. Press the ‘Setting’ button to confirm the minutes and choose the time format (12H or 24H). Note: When the 12-hour time format is selected, PM or AM will be displayed.
  • Page 19 Setting the Alarm Clock You can set four alarms for this wake up light. Note: Alarms 3 and 4 can only be set on the app. The below uses Alarm Clock 1 as an example. In ‘Time’ mode, press the ‘Alarm Clock 1’ button to turn on the alarm.
  • Page 20 Press the ‘Alarm Clock 1’ button to confirm the alarm sound and move to set the wake up sound volume. Press the ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ buttons to adjust the volume. Press the ‘Alarm Clock 1’ button to confirm the volume and move to set the wake up light.
  • Page 21 Snoozing When the alarm goes off, press the ‘Snooze’ button to enter the snooze state so you can get an extra 9 minutes of sleep time. The alarm can be snoozed up to 5 times. Extra 9 minutes • When the alarm goes off (or snooze state), press the corresponding alarm clock button to turn off the light and sound.
  • Page 22 Colourful lights: • Double press the ‘LED Light’ button to turn the colourful lights on/off and enter automatic mode. • Press the ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ buttons to switch to manual mode. • Press and hold the ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ buttons to switch to automatic mode again. Switching the FM Radio On/Off Press and hold the ‘Radio' button for 3 seconds to activate automatic search mode on your first use.

    CLEANING & CARE • Clean the appliance with a soft cloth. • Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, cloths or cleaning solvents like alcohol, acetone, etc., as this may damage the surface of the appliance. • If the appliance will not be used for an extended period, remove the power cord from the electrical outlet and store the appliance in a safe, dry location where it will not be crushed, or damaged.
