INTRODUCTION

It's a tough, accurate tool for homeowners, woodworkers, builders, home inspectors and flooring contractors. Use the AccuMASTER XTto find moisture before it becomes a costly problem. Easily check wood, lumber, drywall and concrete before painting, sealing or treating. Quickly find water leaks in roofs, walls and floors. With the AccuMASTER XT you'll always know you're selecting dry lumber when buying wood for building or selecting firewood for burning.

HOW TO USE

Handle with care when removing protective cover. The measuring pins are very sharp.

Remove the protective cap from the top of the meter and attach it to the bottom end. Press and hold the button to turn the unit on. Press the button to select wood or building material .

Carefully press the test pins into the material you want to measure. The Moisture Content (MC) is displayed as a percentage, and the "raindrops" in the LCD show the different ranges of moisture content —low, medium or high. Audible alert gets faster as moisture content increases.

When measuring in a hard to reach place where it's difficult to see the display, press the button once to lock the MC reading. The icon will appear on LCD. Press the button again to release the hold.

EXAMPLES OF TYPICAL PROJECTS USING THIS METER

Use your AccuMASTER XTto find leaks in drywall, carpeting, flooring or ceilings caused by damaged roofs, flooding, burst pipes or underground seepage. Find moisture early to avoid moisture-related problems like mold and rotting wood.
You can also use your AccuMASTER XTto monitor moisture content to determine the tangential, radial and longitudinal shrinkage of wood for your woodworking projects and material readiness.

	Buying Lumber and Wood —When purchasing lumber for building projects or woodworking, make sure your wood is dry enough to avoid shrinkage, cracking, splitting or warping.
	Firewood —Check to see if the wood is dry enough to burn in stoves or fireplaces.
	Prior to painting, tiling, varnishing or wallpapering —Determine if your surface is ready for application.
	Gardening —Use the meter to monitor soil moisture conditions to ensure healthy gardens

USER TIPS

Gently push the measuring pins into the material to be measured. Do not use excessive force. Do not bang or forcefully push the pins into hard materials such as concrete.
To more accurately measure moisture below the surface of hard, non-porous materials, drill two small holes at the same width as the pins and no deeper than the length of the pins. Then touch the tips of the measuring pins to the bottom of the holes.
Always keep the measuring pins clean and replace the protective cover when not in use.

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Protective cover

3. Full-time backlit display shows moisture content as a percentage and:

   	Low
   	Medium
   	High
   	Battery charge indicator
   	Wood
   	Building Material
   	Lock/Freeze display

4. Press key to toggle between wood and building material
5. Press to hold display. Press again to release.
6. Press for one second to power on. Press again to power off. Auto-powers off after 3 minutes.

How to replace battery: Replace with a 9V alkaline type battery when low battery warning is seen on the LCD. Remove the battery cover on the back of the device and install a fresh battery
