Operation

Intended application

This appliance can be used for cutting or slicing cakes, boneless meat, vegetables or similar sliceable foods.

Cutting blades

  • Position the cutting blades parallel to each other and connect them by inserting the metal pin on one of the blades into the corresponding slot of the second blade. Lift up the blades by using the finger guard and insert them into the housing of the drive unit until they audibly lock into place.
  • For safety reasons, check the assembly for proper seating by trying to pull the blades slightly out of the housing.
  • The appliance is now ready for use.

Start-up

  • Before cutting or slicing can commence, the electric knife must be switched on by pressing down on the slide switch in the housing of the drive unit.
  • Work the blades slowly through the food to be cut without applying excessive pressure. It is not necessary to move the blades back and forth since the blades themselves are moving once the appliance is switched on.
  • To stop slicing, simply release the slide switch.
  • Make sure to remove the plug from the wall socket.
  • Wait until the drive unit and the blades have come to a complete standstill. The blades can be removed from the appliance by pressing the release button and carefully pulling them out of the housing.

Cleaning and care

  • Turn off the appliance after use, remove the plug from the wall socket and wait until the motor has come to a complete standstill.
  • To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the housing with water and do not immerse it in water.
  • The housing may be wiped with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
  • Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning solutions for cleaning.
  • The blades may be cleaned with hot water or in a dish-washer.

Connection to the mains supply

The electric knife should only be connected to an earthed safety socket installed in accordance with the regulations. Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label of the appliance. This product complies with all binding CE labelling directives.
