GETTING STARTED

Unlock the packaging locks:

  1. Turn the packaging lock counter-clockwise several times.
  2. Pull out and discard the packaging lock.

BATTERY INSTALLATION

  1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
  2. Locate the battery cover on the back of the unit. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw.
  3. Install 3 new 'AAA' (AM-4/LR03) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box.
  4. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure the battery cover.

BATTERY NOTICE

  • Use new alkaline batteries for maximum performance.
  • Use only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended.
  • Do not mix different types of batteries: alkaline, standard (carbonzinc) or rechargeable (Ni-Cd, Ni-MH), or new and used batteries.
  • Do not use damaged batteries.
  • Insert batteries with the correct polarity.
  • Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
  • Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.
  • Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.
  • Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
  • Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.
  • Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before charging (if removable).
  • Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.

PRODUCT FEATURES

  1. ON/OFF/MODE SELECTOR SWITCH
    To turn the unit ON, slide the ON/OFF/MODE SELECTOR SWITCH to the FLASHLIGHT MODE () or PLAY MODE () position. To turn the unit OFF, slide the ON/OFF/MODE SELECTOR SWITCH to the OFF ( ) position.
  2. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
    To preserve battery life, the VTech® Spin & Learn Color Flashlight® will automatically power-down after approximately 65 seconds without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing any button or turning the ring.

ACTIVITIES

  1. Slide the on/off/mode selector switch to the play mode position and hear a short tune, a phrase and a song. The lights will flash with the sound. Slide the switch to the flashlight mode position and hear a fun sound. The light will flash with the sound.
  2. Press the turtle button in the play mode to hear playful phrases and sounds. The lights will flash with the sound. In the flashlight mode, hold down the turtle button to turn on the flashlight. The flashlight will remain on when the turtle button is being pressed. To preserve battery life, the flashlight will automatically power-down after being on for 2 minutes.
  3. Press the music button in the play mode to hear melodies with nature sounds. The lights will flash with the sound. In the flashlight mode the music button will play a sound and the turning ring will light up in the related color.
  4. Press the letter button in the play mode to hear a song or melody. The lights will flash with the sound. In the flashlight mode the letter button will play a sound and the turning ring will light up in the related color.
  5. Press the question button in the play mode to hear a question, turn the turning ring to answer the question. The related light will flash. In the flashlight mode the question button will play a sound response and the turning ring will light up in the related color.
  6. Turn the turning ring so one of the animals is positioned in front of the pointer. In the play mode, you will hear the color or the animal identified or hear a fun phrase related to the animal. The lights will flash with the sound. Turn the ring while a melody is playing to hear the animal sound play over the melody. In the flashlight mode, you will hear a sound and the spinning ring will light up in the related color.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

  1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
  2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source.
  3. Remove the batteries when the unit will not be in use for an extended period of time.
  4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If for some reason the program/activity stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps:

  1. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
  2. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
  3. If the product still does not work, replace with a new set of batteries.
