5309393 INSTANT READ PEN DIGITAL THERMOMETER WITH BACKLIGHT INSTRUCTION

IMPORTANT: This thermometer is meant to track food temperatures periodically throughout the cooking
process, it is not oven safe and cannot be left in food during cooking.
NOTE: There is a static cling label over the digital display. Please remove before use.
HOW TO USE:
1. NOTE: The thermometer is factory set to Fahrenheit, switch to Celsius by pressing the "F/C"
button.
2. Remove food from oven, turn on the digital display by pressing the "power" button and insert
thermometer in the thickest part of the meat, immersing the stem at least 1", but not in contact
with bone, fat, or gristle.
3. To freeze the reading, press the "HOLD" button and the digital display will lock in the reading.
The thermometer can be removed from the food and the display will show the last temperature.
To go back to active monitoring, press the "HOLD" button again.
4. If more cooking time is needed, remove the thermometer from the food and return the dish to the
oven.
5. The backlight will turn on for 10 seconds when the thermometer turns on. Manually turn on the
backlight for 10 seconds by pressing the "power" button.
6. The digital display can be powered off or will auto shut off after 10 minutes.
Temperature range: -40F – 500F (-40C – 260C)
Display will show HH.H when temperature is over the upper limit. Display will show LL.L when the
temperature is lower than the lower limit.
Display will show --.- when there is a sensor error.
BATTERY INFORMATION

Examine devices and make sure the battery compartments are correctly secured, e.g. the screw or
other mechanical fastener is tight. Do not use if the compartment is not secure.

