    Software Setup IMPORTANT NOTE: You must install the FireWire 800 and USB 2.0 PCI Express Card drivers prior to installing the hardware in your computer. 1. Insert the FireWire 800 and USB 2.0 PCIe installation CD into your CD-ROM drive. After a few moments, the main menu will automatically start.

    Hardware Installation 1. After completion of software setup, shut down your computer and disconnect all connected devices and peripherals. 2. Remove the cover from your computer. Refer to your computer manufacturer’s user manual for details on how to do this. Touch any bare metal portion of your computer case to discharge yourself of any static electricity.

    Verifying Proper Installation Check the Windows Device Manager to confirm that your PCI Express Card has been properly installed. 1. Right-click on “My Computer” and select “Manage”. 2. Select the “Device Manager” tab. 3. Click the (+) sign next to “IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers”.
