Welcome to Heylo™ Heylo is a leakage notification system that detects and notifies you about leakage. Designed to be used together with your ostomy appliance, Heylo is connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth ® and will notify you discreetly if leakage is detected, it also allows you to check the status of your baseplate directly in the app.
USB cable is a reusable product with an operational 3 USB cable (more information on page 5, 7 and 9) lifetime of 3 years. 4 Sensor layer (more information on page 3) Sensor layer is a single use product. 5 Heylo app (more information on page 11)
The sensor layer This is the Heylo™ sensor layer. It is applied to Front side Reverse side your ostomy appliance to help you detect leakage. On the reverse side, you can see the technology. Each sensor layer has a network of sensors; one under each of the visible dots on the reverse side.
The transmitter This is your transmitter. It communicates with your phone via Bluetooth , to keep you ® informed of any signs of leakage. Your transmitter has a lid on the The rectangular opening on the The lid can be disengaged by front side.
The charger This is your charger and cable. The cable attaches to the charger and the cable can then be plugged into a USB power supply. A full charge of the transmitter takes approximately 2.5 hours, giving it 2-3 days of battery life. The charger is also used to pair your transmitter with your phone.
Portable RF communications equipment (including peripherals such as antenna cables and external antennas) should be used no closer than 30 cm (12 inches) to any part of the Heylo™ system, including cables specified by the manufacturer. Information The user interface has been developed for 12 years and above. After the product setup is complete, it can take up to 5 mins to receive leakage notification, if any. It is recommended to remove the transmitter for bathing or swimming. Following bathing or swimming, ensure the connector flap on the sensor layer is dried thoroughly before reattaching the transmitter.

The app will take you step-by-step through the process of setting up and applying your new ostomy product, with helpful video tutorials and guidance for everyday use. How to use Applying the sensor layer Place a sensor layer on a flat surface. Identify its connector flap and lift it firmly upwards. This prepares it for attaching your transmitter later. Prepare your ostomy product like you normally do. Place your ostomy bag or baseplate on a flat surface with the adhesive facing upwards.

Remove the ostomy product you have on, and if you are already using Heylo™, make sure to remove your transmitter. Open the lid and pull it firmly to detach. You may also wish to charge it.
How to use Attaching the transmitter Ensure connector flap is lifted. Identify the connector flap on the sensor layer. Lift the flap away from your body to prepare it for attaching your transmitter. From a closed position, lift the transmitter lid one ‘click’, to set it in a fixed, lifted position.
How to use Removing the transmitter and sensor layer Transmitter When needed, you can remove the transmitter by lifting the transmitter lid until you hear a click and pull it firmly to detach. How to use Cleaning your transmitter and charger Cleaning your transmitter Disengage your transmitter lid by pulling the lid firmly until it is opened up. You should be able to see the metal connector pins inside the transmitter. The lid is fully open when you have heard two clicks. It is OK to lift the lid with force to ensure it opens completely.
How to use Drying the system In case your Heylo™ system has been exposed to water, it is critical for functionality that water is dried off before usage. If the connection between your transmitter and sensor layer connector flap becomes wet, Heylo may struggle to keep you informed.
How to use Understanding sensors When applied to your skin under your baseplate, the Heylo™ sensor layer looks out for signs of leakage – sending notifications to your phone via your transmitter. As well as notifying you about leakages detected, Heylo may sometimes give you other notifications about what is happening on your sensor layer.
