Driving...
With the machine positioned on the lawn move the
throttle to the FAST position, and release the
brake.
To begin travelling move both drive control levers
forward an equal amount.
As the levers are moved, the unit will begin to
travel, the further the levers are moved the faster
the unit travels.
If you get into difficulty at any time, immediately
release both levers.
It is advisable to drive the unit for five or ten
minutes until you are familiar with the way it
handles.
Cutting...
Lower the cutters as described in 'GETTING
STARTED' and pull the blade safety switch to ON.
Once engaged, the blades will rotate at high
speed.
You can now drive the unit over the lawn at low
speed. Only increase speed where conditions
allow.
Work in a straight line, tackling the lawn in a
series of overlapping strips.
Watch your footing, especially on wet and/or sloping
ground. Work across the face rather than up and down
the slope.
If the blades should strike a stone or something
similar, stop the engine. Switch OFF and inspect for
damage. If in doubt, contact your local HSS Ground
Care Depot for advice.
When you have finished cutting, move the blade
safety switch to the OFF position to disengage the
blades, then raise the blade height lever fully until
it locks in position with the transport lock lever.
Drive the unit to the parking area and switch the
unit OFF . Set the throttle to idle, then set the
parking brake on.
Turn the ignition key to the OFF position then wait
for the engine and moving parts to stop.
EQUIPMENT CARE
Never push the equipment beyond its design
limits. If it will not do what you want with reasonable
ease and speed, assume you have the wrong type or size
of equipment for the job. Contact your local HSS Ground
Care Depot for advice.
Keep the equipment clean – you will find this less of a
chore if you clean it regularly, rather than wait until the
end of the hire period.
Regularly check the fuel level and top up as
necessary with unleaded petrol.
Regularly check the oil level – when the engine is
cold and on level ground. Withdraw the dipstick, wipe it
clean, then replace it, remove it a second time and verify
that the oil level is between the min and max lines, top
up as necessary.
When not in use, store the equipment somewhere
clean, dry and safe from thieves.
FINISHING OFF
Stop the engine and set all control levers to either
neutral or off, then give the unit a final clean up
ready for return, to your local HSS Ground Care Depot.
