EZ Scan (Channel Search)

Automatically finds all channels (analog and digital) available through the
antenna inputs, and stores all the active channels in the channel list. Inactive
or weak channels may not appear on the list. In that case, add missing chan-
nels manually with the Ch. Edit menu. If "Over-The-Air" is selected in the TV
Guide Setup menu, the "Select cable band" menu is not displayed.

• First, you must set up the TV Guide On Screen™ System to use the EZ
scan function. Refer to TV Guide On Screen™ System on pages 54-55.
• If you receive programs over-the-air on the TV Guide On Screen System,
cable band (STD, HRC, or IRC) selection menu is not displayed.
Press MENU to display the on-screen menu.

Select the SETUP menu using 3 3 / 4 4 then press

Press (SELECT) or 2 2 .

STD will be highlighted.
Select a cable band (STD, HRC, or IRC). Ask your cable service

provider for your cable band if not known.
In most cases you can scan for available channels correctly by selecting
STD cable band. Try the other bands if you cannot find any channels
with STD cable band.
Press (SELECT).

The channel search process begins.
When channel scanning is complete, the lowest channel number

found appears on the TV screen.

Ch. Edit (Add, Delete, Surf Channels)

This feature allows you to add or delete channels from memory manually
and create your own Surf list. Press SURF on the remote control when a
channel is highlighted.
Press MENU to display the on-screen menu.

Select the SETUP menu using 3 3 / 4 4 then press

Select the Ch. Edit using 3 3 / 4 4 then press

Channel editing menu appears.
To create a custom list
1. Select a channel to add or delete using 3 / 4 / 1 / 2 on the
channel editing menu.
2. Press (SELECT) to add or delete the channel from memory.
To create a Surf list
1. Select a channel using 3 / 4 / 1 / 2 on the channel editing menu.
2. Press SURF to add or delete the channel to the SURF LIST.

Only the channels in the custom list can be added to the surf list.
Press MENU to return to the previous menu or press EXIT on the

remote control to return to TV viewing.
