Te unit converts audio digital streams present on the LAN and for this reason has not analog or digital external ports. Like the rest of the Altair IPcom Series device, the NEBULA Configuration Software will be used to assign intercom groups, define the different audio levels and configure all the parameters of the unit. - Page 4 AES67 streams AES67 Inputs: AES67 streams present on the Network and generated by external AoIP devices. ALTAIR IPcom Series: IPA-304 HARDWARE Front and Rear Panels FRONT PANEL REAR PANEL Controls Front Panel GPO Ports O1 / O2 Fitted with standard (3.5 pitch) Phoenix™ Euroblock connector for General Purpose Output signals. The IPA-304 includes two general purpose logic outputs. These GPO are open collector type and simulates the behavior of a NO (normally open) switch that closes when activated. - Page 6 ALTAIR IPcom Series: IPA-304 GPI Ports I1 / I2 Fitted with standard (3.5 pitch) Phoenix™ connector for General Purpose Input signals. The IPA-304 includes two general purpose logic inputs I1 and I2. Both GPIs are a digital inputs, with an internal 100 Kohm pull-up tied internally to 3V rail, and therefore the simplest assembly is a simple switch to ground.

ALTAIR IPcom Series: IPA-304 OPERATION Interface turn-on The IPA-304 interface stations as well as the rest of the devices of the Ipcom series do not have a power button and their operation is subject to the switch-on of the switch to which they belong. -

ALTAIR IPcom Series: IPA-304 AES67 Tx. Creating an AES67 Stream. The IPcom interface will generate an AES67 flow from an IPcom signal(Group) AES 67 Tx On the NEBULA software, select the device IPA304 from the Users list On the channel list, go to a channel (CH1 to 24) and select from the desired Group you want to stream on the network. -

ALTAIR IPcom Series: IPA-304 Talk The Talk concept in this device refers to the signal entering the interface. This signal can be either a balanced or unbalanced analogue signal (IN XLR). This signal is named 4W four wires to differentiate from the standard 2W used for wired intercom. -

ALTAIR IPcom Series: IPA-304 Call signaling from unit To make a CALL attention to all members of a group, press F1 / F2 function key on the interface unit buttons. This key must be set previously programmed as a Call to Group function. To do so, enter to the NEBULA window F. -

IPcom System ↔ Intercom Matrix Panels w/ AES67 ports The example shows how the IPcom system interfaces with an intercom matrix system by using the IPA-304 unit as a communication bridge between both worlds: the Altair IPcom System and any AES67 compliant device streaming AoIP. -

The example shows how the IPcom system helps interfacing a 2W intercom systems to an AoIP system compliant with the AES67 standard. 2W (2 wire) intercom systems as the Altair Wireless system or Altair party-line can be connected to digital audio networks. -

ALTAIR IPcom Series: IPA-304 NEBULA CONFIGURATION SOFTWARE Configuration windows The configuration software for the entire ALTAIR IPcom Series contains 6 main windows: Groups It shows all the groups created in the system, indicates the different devices that belong to each group and allows assigning a group configuration for each particular device. -

ALTAIR IPcom Series: IPA-304 NEBULA CONFIGURATION SOFTWARE Advanced Settings IPA-304 Interface Advanced Settings Window The window gives access to the complete configuration of the IPA-304 Interface including File and Edit operations. The window contains 4 tabs that show the different configuration parameters available. - Page 17 ALTAIR IPcom Series: IPA-304 Audio IPA-304 audio configuration parameters: AES67 Input and output gains and Mix level of the different channels, Talk and listening activation keys per channel. AES67 Show the configuration of the AES67 streams. AES INPUT CONFIGURATION. Shows the different Announced Streams on the Network allowing selection of the available channels.
