1. Using a tripod or ground stake, mount a short 4’ or 5’ sec on of mast material in a ver cal orienta on. Note you should allow 6’+ of side clearance in all direc ons from the mast. 2. Loosen ¼”‐ 20 stainless‐steel mast thumbscrews so that bolts do not extend into the mast opening. 3. Slide the hub onto the mast with the hub’s coax connector facing downward towards the ground and ghten the stainless‐steel mast thumbscrews to secure the hub to the mast. Note: Do not use tools, only hand ghten all thumbscrews! Step 2 – A aching Spreader Arm sets to DX-75 Hub 1. Loosen all six brass 8/32 thumbscrews un l the bolts no longer protrude into the spreader arm socket. Note there is no need to remove the screws en rely as they could become lost if dropped. 2. Insert the spreader arms into the hub’s spreader arm socket one at a me as shown below in “Figure 1” 3. Align the “Index Marker” on the spreader arm with the corresponding brass 8/32 thumbscrew on the hub. This should align the arm’s locking hole with the hub’s thumbscrew. 4. Hand ghten the corresponding brass thumbscrew fully. Note if the spreader arm’s locking hole is not properly aligned the thumbscrew may not seat fully, to remedy, ensure the arm is fully inserted and ...

Quick Start Guide Con nued… Step 3 – Extending the Spreader Arms 1. Loosen the yellow bu erfly stainless‐steel hose clamp turn key. 2. Slide the ½” fiberglass tube outward from the ¾” fiberglass tube un l you see a black line on the smaller tube. Align the black index line with the end of the larger tube. 3. Ensure the wire clasp on the p is facing down groundward and ghten the yellow hose clamp turn key by hand. Note the hose clamp’s turn key should be facing upward towards the sky. 4. Repeat items 1‐3 on remaining spreader arms. Step 4 – Installing Antenna Wire and Cord 1. Loosen one of the hub’s antenna wire connectors (see Figure 1) found on either side of the coax connector. 2. Raise the antenna, recommended height is one‐half to one wavelength (16.5’‐33’) above ground; although, the antenna performs surprisingly well even at low heights. 3.
