Daniel Ashcraft, chief creative officer of Ashcraft Design. Timbers, who had been tinkering with homemade loudspeaker designs since the age of 13, joined JBL in 1972 with a master’s degree in acoustics from UCLA. Ashcraft, a graduate of the Art Center College of Design, founded his own product and interior design firm in 1985.
