- Page 3 SureWash is a tool that will teach your staff, visitors, and patients how to clean their hands following the 6-step WHO hand hygiene technique at any time of the day or night using our validated training technology. It is scientifically proven to improve compliance in hand hygiene, thereby reducing the risk of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI).
- Page 4 Setting up the SureWash system To start the SureWash system, plug it into a power supply. Press the on/off button located on the right- hand side of the screen. The SureWash system will boot up automatically. Your machine’s serial number is located underneath the tabletop.
- Page 5 • Press on ‘Staff member’ • Press Keyboard login • Enter username as advised by the SureWash support team. (The username is case sensitive, please ensure it is entered correctly). • If this is the first time that the administrator screen has been accessed, you should enter the default password provided by the SureWash technical team.
- Page 6 Connecting to Wi-Fi • Once you have logged in as administrator, go to the General tab. • Scroll down to the Wi-Fi settings and click ‘Connect’ on the desired network. • Enter the network security key and then click Open web browser to ensure the connection has worked.
- Page 7 Please check with your IT department before enabling this setting. ‘Allow only pre-loaded users to log-in’ prevents unregistered users from using SureWash. Users must be added to the system by the administrator.

If user data is not pre-loaded, staff may enter their details manually. After a user has swiped in for the first time, they may update their profile by selecting the “Your profile”...

- Page 10 • All staff begin by doing the tutorial level – this shows new users how to use SureWash, where to place their hands, there is a prompt as to the action to be done and a video showing how to perform each pose.
- Page 11 • Staff & students are subject to locked levels – as set by the facility. Patients, residents, and visitors have all levels available to them each time. • SureWash recommends the staff & students levels as pre-set, but these can be changed in this screen.
- Page 12 To begin your hand hygiene technique training, select the ‘Tutorial’ level. Before the user can start hand hygiene training, their hands must be presented within the silhouette outlined on the video screen. You must wait for the silhouette to turn from red to green. The user must then follow the poses in the correct sequence.

- Page 14 As an administrator, you can determine how many times each level needs to be completed before the next level can be unlocked. A facility can set goals as required. SureWash recommends agreeing on a goal with the department into which SureWash is being placed for the next period. Progress for achieving the goal is displayed as part of the attract loop when the system is not in use.

- Page 16 Lessons are short micro-lessons that are structured around PowerPoint slides and can be uploaded via www.surewash.net. An administrator can then send them to their SureWash device over Wi-Fi or via their SureWash USB thumb drive. Lessons can also be developed for specific departments and roles...

- Page 18 SureWash recommends the following cleaning guidelines: For health and safety reasons, the SureWash machine should be turned off using the power switch and unplugged before cleaning. For the SureWash ELITE, apart from the screen, the SureWash machine (cart, tabletop, camera head and extrusion) should be cleaned and disinfected with a hospital grade disinfectant/cleaner.
