Safety 4.5 General warnings and safety instructions General ▪ The product may solely be used for the purpose mentioned in chapter 4.1 Intended use. ▪ The product may only be installed, set up and maintained by persons authorized by the manufacturer who meet the requirements set out in §2 section 2 of the German Medical Device Operator Ordinance (MPBetreibV). - Page 10 Safety ▪ During the treatment/use, supervision is required at all times. The patient must not bathe alone! The patient must not be left unattended! ▪ The patient must not be the user/operator! ▪ The user/operator must check the functional safety and the proper condition of the appliance and its accessories (visual check, functional test, etc.) before each use of the appliance.

Transport and storage 5 Transport and storage In order to ensure a safe transport, storage and operation, please observe the environmental conditions specified in chapter 13.1 Technical description. Transport the height-adjustable bathtub to the intended place of installation. Use a forklift or similar for the transport. -

6.1 Electrical connection The bathtub must be wired in accordance with the technical drawings of BEKA Hospitec or the instructions for the design of wet areas as well as the latest VDE-standards. All supply and drain hoses as well as the electrical lines must be laid so that they cannot cause tripping. -

This maintenance must be carried out by a qualified technician. If the AVERO Comfort tub is relocated to another room or in the event of changes to the local water supply, a readjustment of the thermostatic mixer may be required. -

Operating elements and their function Tub filling (button 3) If your tub features the “Automatic water stop” option, the water supply is automatically stopped when the filling level is reached. Press the “Tub filling” button to fill the tub. When the filling level is reached, the water supply is automatically switched off. -

The proximity switch is activated, when you place the palm of your hand on the sensor symbol shown below. This way, all operating functions of the AVERO Comfort are locked/disabled. - Page 23 Function of the multifunctional nursing and shower stretcher (option) The multi-functional nursing and shower stretcher cannot be retrofitted, it has to be ordered in combination with an adapted AVERO Comfort bath. The multifunctional nursing and shower stretcher is opened/unfolded as shown on the image.

8.1 Description of the AVERO Comfort height-adjustable bathtub The AVERO Comfort height-adjustable bathtub is an ergonomically shaped care bath tub in GFK material (plastic reinforced by glass fibers) without surface-mounted operating panel and with a completely closed outer casing. Drive is by means of two synchronously controlled lifting columns. - Page 25 Operation Note! Before the patient gets into the tub, the water temperature must be checked by hand (without wearing gloves) either with a thermometer. When the appliance is used in combination with a patient transfer aid, WARNING please take care that the patient’s body nor any of his/her body parts are trapped, crushed or caught in pinch points! Ensure the stability of the transfer aid in order to avoid tipping over during the transfer of the patient!

For the manual disinfection of the surface, an isopropyl alcohol solution or a customary disinfecting aerosol (spray) can be used. The tub body of the AVERO Comfort height-adjustable bathtub is made of glass-fiber reinforced plastic and can be disinfected with a (non-aggressive) surface disinfectant. -

Maintenance, safety check and inspection 10 Maintenance, safety check and inspection In order to ensure a safe use of our AVERO Comfort height-adjustable bathtub as well as the protection of users and patients, we, BEKA Hospitec, recommend an annual safety check. This check includes, amongst other things, a visual check for external damages (enclosure, mains connections, readability of labels and stickers, soiling, etc.) -

11.2 Disposal of the product The expected service life of the height-adjustable bathtub is approx. 8 years. At the end of the product’s service life, please contact your BEKA vendor, who will recycle the product in accordance with the locally applicable prescriptions and regulations. -
