The are two possible system configurations depending by the type of receiver used (E83/ORI): A. Part to be measured Ricevitore E83 B. Finger E83 Interface unit C. OP32/OP32E Probe/rtansmitter G. Machine tool CNC D. Machine tool spindle Figura 1-1. Setup and configuration with E83 receiver. A. Part to be measured D.
1.1 Use • The measurement system is multidirectional in the x/y/+z hemisphere. • When the finger comes into contact with the surface of the part to be inspected it generates a signal that the machine tool uses to memorize the contact point and arrest the machine axes. In order to ensure good system repeatability it is best to use a constant measurement velocity.

1.3 Optical transmission There is a small hole on the rear of the transmitter for mounting it on the tool-holder cone (see “Mounting the transmitter on the cone”). The transmitter sends the information required by the CNC for processing the measurement to the receiver by optical transmission.

1.4 E83 Receiver The receiver has two functions: it receives the optical signal sent by the touch probe/transmitter, and transmits the start signal to the transmitter. The received signal is sent, via a cable, to the E83 interface unit where it is processed for the CNC interface.

1.6 ORI receiver with integrated interface The ORI ultra-compact receiver with built-in interface has been designed for use on small work centres or micro-milling machines. It is suitable for use in highly compact applications, since there is no need to find the space for the interface module in the machine cubicle, and on milling machines with up to 5 axes where, in contrast, the receiver is capable of performing a precise transmission within an extremely large space.
This sequence is performed in the event of an overload or short circuit on one or more output SSR, and the electronic protection is activated. To reset this condition, remove the cause of the fault, then activate the START signal or interrupt the power supply momentarily. OP32 – User’s Manual...

Ensure that the voltage is present at interface unit terminals 13 and 14. (see installation manual, “Connecting the interface unit”). If this does not resolve the problem, (the LED is still off) return to Marposs for repairs. “Error” LED on communication...
Use the open-end spanner (cod. 1320007000), supplied into tools kit, to tighten the stylus. • Insert and screws the finger (A) on the probe/transmitter (B) • Tighten the finger using a 1 Nm torque wrench. Figure 3-2. Installing the finger. OP32 – User’s Manual...
3.4 Inserting/Substituting the transmitter battery To insert the transmitter batteries, or change them when the interface unit panel “low battery” LED is illuminated (display battery level = 3) and the LOW BATTERY output signal is activated, proceed as follows: Undo the screw (A) securing the cover (C) identified by the graphic battery symbol. •...
3.6 Substituting the receiver glass When it is necessary to substitute the receiver glass (broken, cracked or not perfectly transparent) proceed as follows: Unscrew the external knurled ferrule (A) with the glass mounted in it. • • Mount a new knurled ferrule with glass. Figure 3-5.
