1.1 Use • The measurement system is multidirectional in the x/y/+z hemisphere. • When the finger comes into contact with the surface of the part to be inspected it generates a signal that the machine tool uses to memorize the contact point and arrest the machine axes. In order to ensure good system repeatability it is best to use a constant measurement velocity.

1.3 Optical transmission There is a small hole on the rear of the transmitter for mounting it on the tool-holder cone (see “Mounting the transmitter on the cone”). The transmitter sends the information required by the CNC for processing the measurement to the receiver by optical transmission.

  • Page 12: E83 Receiver

1.4 E83 Receiver The receiver has two functions: it receives the optical signal sent by the touch probe/transmitter, and transmits the start signal to the transmitter. The received signal is sent, via a cable, to the E83 interface unit where it is processed for the CNC interface.

  • Page 14: Ori Receiver With Integrated Interface

1.6 ORI receiver with integrated interface The ORI ultra-compact receiver with built-in interface has been designed for use on small work centres or micro-milling machines. It is suitable for use in highly compact applications, since there is no need to find the space for the interface module in the machine cubicle, and on milling machines with up to 5 axes where, in contrast, the receiver is capable of performing a precise transmission within an extremely large space.
