CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION 2.4.1 Overview • NX-1700/1700H series The NX-1700/1700H series is a VHF Analog FM & Digital Mobile transceiver designed to operate in the frequency range of 136 to 174MHz. Transmit RF power range is 5 to 25W (NX-1700 series) and 5 to 50W (NX-1700H series). The MAIN unit consists of a Transceiver IC, a receiver circuit, a transmitter circuit, a phase-locked loop frequency synthesizer circuit, a digital control circuit, an audio circuit and a power supply circuit.
  • Page 19: Audio Circuit

2.4.3.3 Audio circuit Audio signals (high-pass filter, low-pass filter, de-emphasized and so on) in analog FM mode and the decoded signal in digital mode are processed by the MPU/DSP (IC501). I2S signal from MPU/DSP is converted to audio signal by the CODEC (IC708). Each audio signal is amplified through the Audio pre-amplifier (AF PRE AMP: IC802) and the BTL Audio power amplifier (AF AMP: IC804) and goes to the internal speaker (or 3.5D Jack) and the external speaker (D-SUB 15-pin) respectively.
  • Page 20: Pll Frequency Synthesizer

2.4.5 PLL Frequency Synthesizer 2.4.5.1 TCXO TCXO (X240) generates a reference frequency of 16.8MHz for the PLL frequency synthesizer. And this reference signal is distributed to the PLL IC (IC201). The oscillation frequency is adjusted TCXO directly by controlled the D/A converter (DAC: IC709) through the modulation amplifier (MOD AMP: IC702).
  • Page 21: Control Circuit

2.4.6 Control circuit The control circuit consists of the MPU/DSP (IC501) and its peripheral circuits. The MPU/DSP mainly performs the following. (1) Switching between transmission and reception by PTT signal input. (2) Reading system, zone, frequency, and the program data from the memory circuit. (3) Sending the frequency program data to the PLL IC (IC201).
