FOREWORD Ladies and Gentlemen, Thank you for purchasing our ZS-TOUCH control unit and for placing your trust in our products. These instructions will familiarise you with the operation, maintenance and care of the ZS-TOUCH. Improper operation of the appliance can result in personal injury and damage to property.
Neither Ventomaxx GmbH nor any of its affiliates or subsidiaries can be held responsible or liable for any misuse of the information contained herein. All relevant national, regional and local safety regulations must always be observed when installing and using this device.
Observing them helps to avoid hazards, minimise repair costs and downtimes, and maintain or increase the reliability and service life of the system. Read the operating instructions carefully before installing and commissioning the ZS-TOUCH control unit. Our systems are constantly being developed and improved. The data contained herein corresponds to the status at the time of printing.
NOTES ON THE INSTRUCTIONS 2.3 User and safety instructions The user and safety instructions in this manual have a standardised structure and are marked with a symbol on the left-hand side of the instructions. If several hazard levels occur, the safety instruction for the highest level is always used.

CE marking The CE marking on the product is the manufacturer's declaration that the product fulfils the essential requirements of the relevant European laws for the protection of health, safety and the environment.
2.7 Intended use and area of application The ZS-TOUCH control unit is designed for wall mounting in an appliance box. It is suitable for controlling Ventomaxx ventilation systems with heat recovery and is used for the continuous ventilation of dust-free and dry indoor rooms under normal climatic conditions.

Any use other than that described in these instructions is considered improper use. Ventomaxx GmbH is not liable for damage resulting from improper use. The risk is borne solely by the user/operator.
Complaints that are not made in good time may result in the loss of possible claims. Please also note our current General Terms and Conditions (https://www.ventomaxx.de/agb). The ZS-TOUCH control unit is supplied in combination with the ventilation units from the Z-WRG and WRG MAKANI series.

Depending on requirements, the ZS-TOUCH can be used as a flush-mounted version or in the sub- distribution for connecting 2 / 4 / 6 / 8 fan units. The control unit of the ZS-TOUCH consists of the operating unit and the system coupler. For the flush-mounted version, a corresponding appliance box must be provided on site.

Due to its design, the ZS-TOUCH control unit is compatible with standard switch programmes with a square cut-out of 55 mm. Please note that the ZS-TOUCH control unit does not have rounded corners. A cover frame for the flush-mounted version is supplied as standard.

4.2 Operating/display elements As soon as the ZS-TOUCH is connected to the power supply, the display switches on automatically, the Ventomaxx logo lights up briefly and the Zone 1 + Zone 2 overview is displayed.
Swiping from right to left again takes you to the MENU view. Queries and additional settings can be made here. NOTE The ZS-TOUCH is supplied with multi-zone operation (zone 1 + zone 2) as standard. This setting can be changed at any time (see chapter 7.4.5.1 "Multi-zone operation"). 4.2.1.1 Zone 1 By swiping from right to left, you can switch from the overview display to the respective zone display, where the corresponding ventilation settings can be made.
The ZS-TOUCH offers the option of extending the range of functions via external interfaces. 4.3.1 Interface for connecting sensors The ZS-TOUCH has an external interface for connecting sensors. A hygro sensor or a combined CO hygro sensor are optionally available as accessories. A maximum of four sensors can be connected to the control unit.
To equalise the exhaust air volume flows, the air stages of the fans connected to the ZS-TOUCH (in supply air mode) are adjusted and automatically switch up one air stage. When the external devices are deactivated (e.g. switching off the bathroom ventilation), the fans return to their original operation.

Empty conduits / cables from the ZS-AE connection unit (in the control cabinet) to the fans must be provided (by the customer) both for installation in an appliance box (flush-mounted variant) and for installation in the sub-distribution.

6.2.3 Mounting ZS-TOUCH sub-distribution for 2 / 4 / 6 / 8 fan units When installing the ZS-TOUCH in the sub-distribution board, the entire control unit is mounted and connected together with the ZS-NT universal power supply unit and the ZS-AE connection unit on the top-hat rail in the sub-distribution board using a surface-mounted housing (accessory set).

• Now clip the control unit onto the system coupler. INSTALLATION AND ASSEMBLY Zone allocation The ZS-TOUCH can be operated in single or dual-zone mode (see chapter 7.4.5.1 "Multi-zone operation"). The slide switch on the ZS-AE connection unit is used to assign which fan is to be assigned to which zone.
OPERATION 7.1 Initial commissioning As soon as the ZS-TOUCH is connected to the power supply, the display switches on automatically, the Ventomaxx logo lights up briefly and the Zone 1 + Zone 2 overview is displayed. The connected ventilation units start automatically at power level 1 in efficiency ventilation mode (factory setting).

OPERATION 7.2.3 Further functions Max mode If you touch this button, the maximum air level is set in the respective zone for a predefined period of time. After the set time has elapsed, the control unit switches back to the previously selected air level. Pause mode When this button is touched, the ventilation units in the respective zone pause for a preset period of time.
OPERATION 7.3.2 Operating hours Displays the operating hours per zone and air stage as well as the total operating hours per zone. In two-zone operation, the operating hours per zone are displayed. 7.3.3 Measured values Displays temperature and humidity readings from the internal or external sensors.
OPERATION 7.4.1 Filter / Filter change 7.4.1.1 Filter change After around 4,000 operating hours of the fan units, a filter change is necessary. You can find an overview of the remaining running times of the filters per zone under Filters. When a filter change is due, the control unit screen lights up permanently in dimmed mode.
ZS-TOUCH and scan the displayed QR code with your smartphone. 7.4.2 Language With the ZS-TOUCH, you can select the language for the user interface. You can choose between German and English. Under "Settings", scroll all the way down and then select "Basic settings". Scroll to the bottom of this submenu.
"Date/Time" > "Clock" > "Time via WiFi" and select "No" in the prompt. NOTE After deactivating the ZS-TOUCH (active or in the event of a power failure) and switching it on again, the time and date must be reconfigured. Exception: The ZS-TOUCH is connected to WiFi and synchronisation is activated.
OPERATION 7.4.4 Time control The week and summer time programmes are predefined. These can be customised. This ensures automatic indoor ventilation that is customised to your wishes and needs. In the time programmes, you can individually set your fan units to a corresponding operating mode and air level for each day of the week and each zone. It should be noted that the set points are switching points at which the desired setting is made at the desired time.
OPERATION again In the next step, tap on the "Zone 1" category and set the desired operating mode, e.g. efficiency ventilation. Confirm with "OK". Now scroll down on the display (swipe upwards) and select "Zone 1" again to set the corresponding air level.

OPERATION Now tap on "Start". Then set the day, month and year on which you will be absent. To do this, tap on "Start day" and select the corresponding day and confirm with "OK". 7.4.5 Further basic settings 7.4.5.1 Multi-zone operation The ZS-TOUCH can be operated in multi-zone mode or single-zone mode. In multi-zone mode, the living unit can be divided into two zones, e.g. 1st floor/EG or sleeping area/living area. If this multi-zone operation is not desired, you must deactivate multi-zone operation manually.
OPERATION 7.4.5.2 Max mode In the settings menu for zone 1 or zone 2, it is possible to set the maximum air level per zone. This means that the fan units assigned to the zone run at the maximum air level 5 for a preset time. To do this, tap the MAX button in the respective ZONE menu.
OPERATION 7.4.5.3 Pause mode By activating the pause mode, the fan unit of the corresponding zone switches off completely for a certain period of time. To do this, tap the pause button in the respective ZONE menu. The button turns blue when activated and the remaining time is displayed above it.
OPERATION If you have activated the ventilation release, you can switch off the ventilation manually and permanently on the main views for zone 1 or zone 2. In this case, the ventilation does not switch on again automatically after a certain time has elapsed. 7.4.5.5 Cross ventilation settings You have the option of setting your fan units to cross ventilation mode permanently or for a specific period of time.
7.4.5.6 Cross ventilation Auto changeover The ZS-TOUCH can automatically switch to cross ventilation to cool down the room temperature if a set room temperature is exceeded (default setting: 25 °C). As soon as the desired cooling is achieved, the system switches back to the previously set mode.
7.4.7 Digital input The ZS-TOUCH has an external input that can be assigned various functions. The input is a live, digital input that must be wired with a potential-free contact. Depending on the function, the input can be wired to a switch or push-button.

OPERATION Pause mode If you have set the pause mode function, the relevant ventilation units are deactivated for a preset time to prevent noise nuisance. The external input must be connected to a button in order to use the night silence function.

OPERATION Alternatively, the air level can remain activated only for the duration of the pending signal. To do this, select the "Level" option under "Switch air stage" so that this input reacts to the level rather than the edge. If the input signal drops, the last selected air level is reactivated.

OPERATION Manual changes to the operating mode overwrite the external specification until a status change occurs again at the input. Air stage and operating mode specification The air level and operating mode preset function works in the same way as the external air level preset function.

OPERATION Set the duration of the overrun accordingly under "Overrun disbalance". Minimum air stage A switch must be installed or connected in order to use this function. The minimum air level function allows operation below the set air level to be suppressed. While the input is active, the appliance can no longer be manually set to an air level that is lower than the air level set under "Minimum air level".
OPERATION 7.4.8 Service The ZS-TOUCH is equipped with two configuration levels: 1. User PIN: "0000" (customisable by the customer; see chapter 7.4.8.1 "User PIN") 2. Service PIN: "8403"(unchangeable) NOTE For safety reasons, the Service PIN may only be used by trained specialist personnel.
PIN of "0000" (factory setting) again. 7.4.10 WiFi The ZS-TOUCH has a WiFi interface. This allows the control unit to automatically obtain the time and date. With your consent, we can also support you via remote access in the event of maintenance.

OPERATION When activated for the first time: Go to "Set up WiFi" and select the desired WiFi from the list. The SSID of the connected WiFi is displayed under SSID. Then enter your current WiFi password so that the control unit connects to your WiFi. Activate remote access: To enable our service team to provide the best possible support for troubleshooting, you must activate remote access for your control unit.
You will then find the "Restore factory settings" submenu under Settings > Basic settings. Tap on this submenu and select "Yes" when prompted. NOTE If you reset the ZS-TOUCH to the factory settings, the ZS-TOUCH will be restored to the factory settings. As a result, all the settings you have made will be lost. 7.4.12 Configure sensors To be able to configure additional external sensors, you must first activate this menu using the service PIN (see chapter 7.4.8 "Service").

MAINTENANCE CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE The ZS-TOUCH control unit is virtually maintenance-free. Any cleaning work required can be carried out by the user after brief instruction. The easiest way to clean the control unit cover is with a damp cloth. Only use water with a little washing-up liquid to ensure that the surface is not damaged.
9.2 Repairs Ventomaxx recommends using an authorised specialist company for any necessary repairs. Unauthorised repairs by personnel not authorised by Ventomaxx are considered improper use and will result in the loss of warranty and guarantee. Page 60 from 64...
At the end of its service life or when the control unit and its components are replaced, they must be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. Dismantle the ZS-TOUCH in reverse assembly sequence. Dispose of the product in accordance with the applicable national regulations.
