Video Storage Deployment Instructions Key words: Video Storage Abstract: This document describes how to configure the Video Storage products. It is applicable to FS employees, system administrators, maintenance personnel, and other relevant personnel. Readers are expected to acquaint themselves with the Video Storage...
VS-6048D VIDEO STORAGE CONFIGURATION Overview of Deployment Procedures For deployment procedures, refer to Figure 1-1, where green indicates hardware configuration operations, orange indicates inspection operations and red indicates software configuration operations. The following sections will describe the sequential deployment procedures according to the flowchart.
Typical Application Configuration Video Storage supports 1 SCU with up to 4 cascaded DEUs, all of which can be configured with up to 24 disks (for VS-6048D 48 disks). It is recommended to create RAID LUN with 11+1 and 12 disks in each chassis, wherein 11 or 12 disks are used as data disks, with the rest of one automatically being the hot spare disk, or you may add an exclusive hot spare disk.

Figure 4-6 Full configured disks Network Environment Configuration A gigabit NIC (network interface card) should always be used for Video storage unit. Be careful not to use a 100 MBit/s switch to prevent the transmission rate from being negotiated to100 MBbit/s which significantly degrades its performance.
Please always check the appropriateness of the hardware environment before upgrading or configuring the product. If there are any disagreements between the hardware configuration and the instructions, please contact the FS Supply Chain for replacement in time. Please carry out each check in sequence as described in Table 9–1.
