    The following User Instructions are applicable to the AKETEK® Lift-Up welding helmet equipped with an auto-darkening filter (ADF). The AKETEK® Lift-Up welding helmet is designed for electric arc weld- ing (MIG/MAG, MMA, TIG), grinding and plasma cutting. The helmet provides reliable protection against ultraviolet radiation (UV), infrared radiation (IR), visible light, sparks and weld spatters when used in accordance with the User Instructions.

    Warnings: AKETEK® Lift-Up welding helmet can only be used for electric arc welding, plasma welding, and grinding. AKETEK® Lift-Up must always be equipped with an AKETEK® auto-darkening filter, outer & inner cover plates and a grinding visor. Before welding, always inspect the helmet for cracks or scratches to the welding filter or protection plates.
  • Page 5 2.1 Adjusting the helmet Adjust the size of the circumference so that the helmet fits firmly and comfortably on the head by turning the knob on the back. The headgear has two adjustable head straps and a flexible neck pad for increased comfort.
  • Page 6 Make sure to activate “WELD” mode before welding. If the AKETEK® ADF fails to switch to dark mode when it is set to WELD, stop welding immediately and see the troubleshooting section.

    Recommended shades for various welding applications. 2.3 Raising and lowering the visor Please note that the visor raises in a different motion compared to other brands. Follow the tracks on the side of the helmet when raising and lowering the visor to prevent damages to the helmet. When lowering the visor, make sure you pull the visor forward and then downward.

    11 Warranty Aketek Industries AB covers any defects in material or workmanship under normal use for two (2) years for the auto-darkening filter. Aketek Industries AB’s obligation under this warranty shall be to repair, replace, or refund the purchase price of any product or portion thereof deter- mined to be defective in materials or workmanship.
