1. Precautions and Safety Warnings
Please read this manual carefully before using your UT240
series Interconnect. Keep this manual handy for future reference.
These safety instructions are to ensure the long life of your
UT240 and to prevent fire and shock hazards. Please read them
carefully and heed all warnings.
1.1 General
•
Unauthorized personnel shall not open the unit as there
are high-voltage components inside. Qualified Altinex
service personnel or their authorized representatives
must perform all service.
1.2 Installation Precautions
•
For best results, place the UT series Interconnect unit in
a dry area away from dust.
•
To prevent fire or shock, do not expose this unit to water
or moisture. Do not place the unit in direct sunlight, near
heaters or heat-radiating appliances, or near any liquid.
Exposure to direct sunlight, smoke, or steam can harm
internal components.
•
Handle carefully; dropping or jarring can cause damage.
•
Disconnect the power cord to turn off the power. The
power outlet should be installed near the equipment and
be easily accessible.
2. Installation Procedures

Note:
The UT240-200S installs horizontally, under a table or on the back of a desk or inside a podium.
However, it may also be installed vertically.
Step 1
Locate the best position for your UT240-200S, but do NOT mount it to
the surface until cables are ready.
Step 2. Install up to three RT300 series retractable cables if needed in to the
UT240-200S. Use bushings provided with the UT unit. If one or more
retract units are not installed, install plugs provided.
Step 3. Secure the unit under the table using the metal screws provided with
the unit.
Step 4. Use the cable clamps provided to secure the cables to the bottom of
the table/desk.

We recommend using wall outlets with a Ground Fault
Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) for maximum protection.

Install cables according to the instructions found herein.
Do not force or pull any cables attached to the unit
1.3 Cleaning
•
Surfaces should be cleaned with a dry cloth. Never use
strong detergents or solvents such as alcohol or thinner.
Do not use a wet cloth or water to clean the unit.
