This easy-to-use manual details the operating instructions and benefits of the Security System. Features and Benefits of your Security System Auto Lock Function - After unlocking with the transmitter, all doors and the liftgate will automatically lock if one of the doors or the liftgate is not opened within approximately 30 seconds. Remote-Controlled Convenience - The security system is controlled by your existing keyless entry transmitter. See your vehicle Owner’s Manual for additional OEM transmitter information.
Security System Components Your Original-Equipment Keyless Entry Transmitter The Keyless Entry transmitter that came with your vehicle controls the arming and disarming functions of the Security System. The system is armed when the doors are locked with the keyless entry transmitter.
Security System Operation Arming the Security System with the Keyless Entry Transmitter To arm the system, close all doors, then press the lock button on your remote transmitter. The horn will beep softly one time and the parking lights will flash one time to indicate the system has been armed. The red status indicator light will blink steadily, once per second.
Security System Operation (cont.) Starter Interrupt Starter Interrupt is an automatic feature of your security system. The starter is disabled any time the security system is armed, so the vehicle cannot be started even when using the key. When the Security System is Triggered The security system will trigger if one of the following events occur during it’s armed state: Any door or liftgate is opened.
Security System Operation (cont.) Accessing and Adjusting the Shock Sensor Sensitivity Use the following instructions to access the shock sensor, and to adjust the sensitivity. 1. Using a small flat tip screwdriver, remove the (2) plastic fasteners in the black lower dash panel. (See Figure B) 2.
