- Page 4 Cockpit Construction Cut this area from the kit Cut or sand off these area from the kit Note* Use the cockpit floor from the Airfix kit. This is not a great fit so a bit of checking will be needed as the fuselage half’s won’t join if this is not sanded slightly.
- Page 5 Fit kit parts to fuselage as instructions. Please note however, these are not a great fit and will need some major thinning on the rear face to get a flush fit. Once you have got the intake plates/rear instrument panels to have a snug fit but they must be level with the main internal cockpit walls, fit rear bulkhead Resin Part 1.
- Page 6 Trial fit the instrument panel and coaming but DO NOT fix at this stage. Fit rear instrument panel/coaming Part 2, using the kit cockpit floor as a guide.
- Page 7 Alternative Rear Cockpit If you want to build XP505 in the original colour scheme and before conversion, use resin Part 6. This was finished a greenish/blue GRP and had a top hatch which housed numerous instruments. (Sorry I do not have any more information on this). The ejector seat can also be added at this stage (part 5).
- Page 8 Cockpit after Conversion 9 x 4 Rear instrument rack: Resin part 8 is the base, 4 No struts, one in each corner. (Resin Part 9) & the top platform Part 10 make up the instrument panel. The struts/legs have small lugs which point inwards. These are painted A metallic blue/silver.
- Page 9 Completed Cockpit General Cockpit Colours Floor Dark Admiralty Grey with Black Rubber matts. Walls, DAG with Black instruments and dials. Seat, DAG frame with Yellow cushions. Note This had a Light Olive Green cover. The parachute pack was a very Light Sage Green with Dark Green straps.
