Instructions for
Programming Baofeng UV5r for repeater (Johnson Butte
146.6400) This is the repeater that hosts an LDS regional net at 6:30 pm each
Sunday.
Three things to enter to transmit to the repeater. Offset of your transmission .6 Mhz,
direction is ( - ) , and CTCSS tone 100.
change the language to English. Press menu, go to #14, menu again and choose

eng. Menu to save.
go to the freq mode by pressing the V/M button

Type in 146.6400 for Johnson butte repeater
•
1. press menu
2. arrow up and down and go to #13 Transmit CTCSS
3. press menu again and arrow up to the tone 100Mz
4. press menu again to confirm saved.
5. continue arrow up to menu #25 and set direction of off set to -
6. menu to save confirm
7. arrow up to menu #26 offset freq and input each number on the keypad 0006 for
.6Mhz
8. menu to save
9. save in memory, arrow to menu #27 and select a number for your channel then menu
to save
there is no way to name this channel unless you get a data cable and a CHIRP program.
just remember the channel number for your repeater.
If you can't reach the repeater, you may need a better antenna other than the OEM. Let
me know, I have some suggestions that have helped me on my HT.
Repeat the steps for each repeater you want to program.
