SURVEY RESULTS
In order to successfully install this equipment, you will need to have available detailed results from the radio survey. These
should show the required location of each unit, the achievable range, the optimum type and location of each antenna, and the
best operating frequency. In the absence of these survey results, it is possible to carry out a very basic check for background
interference using one of the F-Link units. See the installation manual (section 2.1.1 on page 5) for details of how to do this.
PRE-INSTALLATION SETUP
See manual: page 4
POWER-UP
Connect temporary power to the power input terminals of every F-Link (10-30V dc, 0.5amp). This can be taken from a
temporary PSU or a charged 12v battery.
SET FREQUENCY
Consult the survey results from step 1
and choose a clear frequency channel,
then use the dip switches to set every
F-Link to use this channel.
SET ADDRESSES
Set the address of each F-Link using
dip switches - one F-Link must be set
to 0 (Master) and the others set
between 1 - 15 (Nodes). Each F-Link
must have a different address.
CONFIGURE
The F-Links have a basic "default" configuration pre-loaded (see manual), which can be changed at this point if required
using a laptop and the F-Link Pro Configuration Utility software (available from Scope).
INSTALLATION
Only when all above steps have been completed can the units be installed in their final locations, as identified in the
radio survey, and strictly in accordance with the detailed instructions and guidance given in the F-Link manual.
TEST
Once installed, the F-Link network
must be comprehensively tested for correct
operation.

Most of the work required to install an F-Link system needs
to be done before the units are screwed to the wall.
Fit a standard ¼ wave antenna to every F-Link.

remove the lid, and move to one side. Do not unplug the ribbon cable.
