    About this Guide Purpose and Audience This guide provides the information needed to install, configure, and use the Lantronix LM83X/ SLC Hybrid Local Manager. The Local Manager is for IT professionals who must remotely and securely configure and administer servers, routers, switches, telephone equipment, or other devices equipped with a serial port for facilities that are typically remote branch offices or “distributed”...

    The LM83X/SLC Hybrid gives the administrator a way to access them remotely from anywhere there is a network or modem connection. The LM83X/SLC Hybrid has one 8-port module (RJ45 I/O) and can accommodate up to three additional 8, 16, or 32 port modules, or two additional modules and an LCD and keypad display module.

    Before connecting the Local Manager to power, ensure all site requirements are met. Connect the power cord to the Local Manager. Use either the provided power cord or one that is suitable for your location. The Lantronix Local Manager uses a power cord with a standard IEC- 320-C13 female cord end.
