    GENERAL SET-UP POWER TURN ON THE NUVO S Press and hold the Sleep/Wake Button until the logo appears. If the device does not turn on, you might need to charge the battery. TURN OFF THE NUVO S Press and hold the Sleep/Wake Button until the slider appears, then drag the slider.

    Charge the battery. The best way to charge the device battery is to connect to a power outlet using the included cable and USB-C power adapter. Connecting the NUVO S device to a power outlet can start a general software backup and a communication software backup.

    USING THE AAC SOFTWARE The Nuvo S is available with multiple software options. For specific uses of the software application ordered by your treating practitioner, please visit our website, www.rmspeech.com. You can sign up and have access to our Resources page as a user.

    The NUVO S or its battery can be damaged if dropped, burned, punctured, or crushed, or if it encounters liquid. If you suspect damage to the NUVO S or the battery, discontinue use of the device, as it may cause overheating or injury. Don’t use NUVO S with a cracked screen, as it may cause injury.

    It’s important to keep the NUVO S device and its power adapter in a well- ventilated area when in use or charging. Take special care if you have a physical condition that affects your ability to detect heat against the body.

    When use is prohibited, such as while traveling in aircraft, or when asked to do so by authorities, turn off the NUVO S device, or use airplane mode or Settings > Wi-Fi and Settings > Bluetooth to turn off the wireless transmitters.

    IMPORTANT HANDLING INFORMATION CLEANING Clean the Nuvo device immediately if it encounters anything that may cause stains or other damage—for example, dirt or sand, ink, makeup, soap, detergent, acids or acidic foods, and lotions.     The NUVO S is designed to work in ambient temperatures between 32° and 95° F (0° and 35° C) and stored in temperatures between -4° and 113° F (-20° and 45° C). The NUVO S can be damaged and battery life shortened if stored or operated outside of these temperature ranges.

    IMPORTANT You may not be able to use the NUVO S while the temperature warning screen is displayed. If the NUVO S can’t regulate its internal temperature, it goes into deep sleep mode until it cools. Move the NUVO S device to a cooler location out of direct sunlight and wait a few minutes before trying to use the NUVO S again.
