PFT Quick Start Guide
Instrument Operation Instructions and Product Registration
As a part of AMETEK Brookfield's sustainability initiative, we have moved to a digital
download format for instrument operation instructions (manuals). For a free
download to obtain your manual, simply follow the steps below:
• Download and install Powder Flow Pro software, available for free download on
the Powder Flow Tester page on www.brookfieldengineering.com.
• Access the Resource Library on the AMETEK Brookfield website by using the
following link or QR code

• Navigate to the manual for your instrument.
• Download your manual by using the link provided.

Unpack and Initial Setup
• Unpack and power up the Powder Flow Tester (PFT).
For more information regarding initial setup and installation, see the PFT "Unpacking and Setup Instructions"
or refer to the "Operating Instructions" manual.
Instrument Operation
• Level the instrument.
• Turn on the power to the instrument, the switch is on the back side.
• Open "Powder Flow Pro" software application on PC. Go to the "setup" tab. Establish communication with the
instrument by pushing the "search" button. The communication or "COM" port will automatically be selected
and identified.
• Record the weight of the trough.
• Attach the outer catch tray outside the trough. Insert the inner catch tray with shaping blade inside the trough.
The inner catch tray locks into place with slight rotation. The pin in the trough engages with one of the multiple
pinholes in the bottom of the inner catch tray.
