The unit will pulsate in a controlled manner.
Double check that the waste water is being
dispersed to a suitable place.
Whichever you are using...
You must now put the headphones on and switch
the locator ON. The ON/OFF knob on the locator
is also the sensitivity control, turn the knob
clockwise to decrease sensitivity.
Hold the locator upright with the contact spike
touching the ground and listen for the pulse.
Work over the area in a grid like pattern, if
necessary, the contact spike can be immersed in shallow
water.
Cover the area until either a signal is located or
until you are fully satisfied that the area has been
adequately tested.
Close in on any sound and use the locators' dial to
display pulse strength.
Take extra care when wearing the headphones, as
you will not be able to hear anything around you.
EQUIPMENT CARE
Never push the equipment beyond its design
limits.
If it is unsuitable for the task you are
performing DO NOT USE OR RELY ON IT. Contact
your local HSS Safe and Sure Depot for advice.
Keep the equipment clean - you will find this less of a
chore if you clean it regularly, rather than wait until the
end of the hire period.
Handle the equipment with care, avoid dropping or
knocking it.
When not in use, store the equipment somewhere
clean, dry and safe from thieves.
FINISHING OFF
Switch
the
locator
OFF,
disconnect
headphones then remove the contact spike and
place in its carry case.

Give everything a final clean, ready for return to
your local HSS Safe and Sure Depot.
