Multiple text entry modes make it easy for you to
enter names, numbers, and messages. In a text entry

screen, press to switch to any of these entry
modes:
entry mode
Primary Enter text using the method you set.
Numeric Enter numbers only (see page 25).
Symbol Enter symbols only (see page 25).
Secondary Enter text using the method you set.
To set Primary or Secondary entry mode:
1 In any text entry screen, press Options.
2 Scroll to Text Setup and press

4 Scroll to one of these methods and press

iTAP English Let the phone predict each English
word as you press keys.
iTAP Français Let the phone predict each French word
as you press keys.
Tap English Enter letters and numbers by pressing
a key one or more times.
Tap Extended Enter letters, numbers, and symbols by
pressing a key one or more times.
Note: Your phone may not contain all of these
languages.
To select a text entry mode:
Press Options in a text entry screen, scroll to and select
Text Setup. Then, scroll to and select the desired entry
mode.
