Screw the external antenna into the antenna connector on the top of the beltpack. Under no circumstances should the length of the wire antenna be shortened, coiled up or wrapped with the audio lead as this will reduce the performance of the radio system. Insert the Lemo connector for the lapel microphone into the audio connector, lining up the red idents on plug and socket.

• Optimising the Gain of your System In order to achieve the best possible audio performance from your radio system, it is worth spending a few minutes setting the optimum gain level. Adjust the gain of your transmitter, as described in the appropriate section. The optimum setting for this will be found by first adjusting the transmitter gain so that the maximum audio signal expected just lights the receiver AF bar display to the +3 dB level.
