I have turned off the sound of my MTR93MHD but the annoying "jangle" sound continues to sound.

Bought three micro-SD memory cards and can't seem to insert any of them. When pushed in a bit, it says FORMAT but I wasn't going to hold it in place. Nothing clicked as stated in manual. Did I get a defective product?
