Dualex

SHORT MANUAL

Thank you for choosing Dualex by METOS. Dualex is a hand-held leaf-

clip that combines the use of fluorescence and light transmission

through a leaf to determine a plant's physiological state.

Dualex measures leaf chlorophyll content and indices for flavonol and

anthocyanin. Chlorophyll is measured using light transmittance at dif-

ferent wavelengths (FR and NIR), while flavonol and anthocyanin meas-

urements are based on chlorophyll excitation at different wavelengths

in the visible and UV light spectrum.

Page 3 TAKING A MEASUREMENT To start, press the power button. A beep and the Pessl Logo appear, followed by the main menu. Select “Measurement” and confirm with the “OK” button. Ensure no leaf is clipped between the heads, then press “OK” again Open the clip and place the intended leaf between the heads to take a measurement.
Page 4 CLEANING The Dualex should be cleaned regularly using a tissue slightly mois- tened with a mixture of water and alcohol. The optical parts of the device must be carefully cleaned by blowing clean and dry air, followed by wiping with a cotton swab slightly moistened with ethanol.
